CEDARVILLE, Ohio -
Audrey Nelson's goal early in the second half was all that the No. 23 Lady Jackets needed to fend off Oklahoma Baptist on a stuffy afternoon in the home opener.
Sophie Browndyke ripped a shot off the Bison keeper and Nelson knocked in the rebound from short range in the 53rd minute.
It was Nelson's seventh career goal and Browndyke's first-ever assist.
Brooke Ackley was called upon to make four saves in recording her second straight 1-0 result and 18th career shutout.
Cedarville outshot OBU 10-5 overall and 6-4 on goal in what was the first meeting between the two schools.
