Lady Jackets down Walsh; advance to G-MAC Semis

HIGHLIGHTS  |  CHAMPIONSHIP INFO

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - No. 4 seed Cedarville continued its mastery over No. 5 Walsh with a 4-1 verdict in the G-MAC Quarterfinals.

The Lady Jackets advance to play host, No. 1 seed, and United Soccer Coaches Division II No. 3 Ashland on Thursday in the semifinals.

Payton Fraley redirected a cross from Seren Johnson in the 13th minute just inside the right post to get the scoring started.

Emily Walton made it 2-0 when she converted a penalty kick less than four minutes later.

After the Cavaliers pulled a goal back in the 31st minute, CU's Becca Schulenburg answered only 19 seconds later to reinstall the two-goal cushion.

Addie Erslan's 18-yard strike into an open net sealed the result in the 76th minute.

The Jackets have beaten Walsh in each of their last nine meetings including three times this fall.
