Cedarville battles weather, Arrows for two wins

XENIA, Ohio - Casey Bertke continued her torrid pitching streak while Kaley Clark and Lexi Parsons collected four hits apiece to lead the Lady Jackets to a G-MAC sweep over Ursuline.

CU won by scores of 9-0 and 7-6 on a blustery day at the Athletes in Action Sports Complex.

Bertke, 11-6, extended her winning streak to nine in a row on a two-hitter with three strikeouts in the first game.

The contest was halted after five innings by the eight-run mercy rule.

Lindsey Linker smacked a two-run double, Kaley Clark had two hits, Dana Bertke scored twice, and Parsons tripled.

In the nightcap, Cedarville built a 7-3 lead and then hung on after the Arrows scored three times in the seventh.

Mackenzie Russell, 2-3, went the distance in the circle. She struck out three and did not walk a batter.

Parsons went 3-for-3 with an RBI for Cedarville, 16-21 overall and 9-5 G-MAC.

Clark had two hits with a double, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Dana Bertke matched her with two hits, a double, and two runs to go along with one RBI.
