Jackets clip Tiffin; advance at G-MAC Tournament

CHAMPIONSHIP INFO

AKRON, Ohio - No. 6 seed Cedarville moved on to the G-MAC Softball Championship winners' bracket final with a 2-1 win over No. 7 Tiffin at Firestone Park.

The Lady Jackets will face No. 4 Northwood on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. EDT.

Winning pitcher Casey Bertke, 16-10, stood tall in the circle again with her 23rd complete game.

She struck out four without a walk and allowed one earned run in the seventh inning.

Cedarville took a 2-0 lead in the third. Dana Bertke doubled home Jordan Berry for the first run.

One out later, Camryn Taktak delivered a double on a 0-2 pitch to plate Bertke. 

Faith Bergner had two of the team's five hits. The defense overcame two errors by turning a pair of double plays.
