Malone comeback forges 2-2 draw at Cedarville

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Malone erased a two-goal halftime deficit and the Yellow Jackets held on for a 2-2 deadlock in the G-MAC opener for both schools.

It was a positive start for the home side after Benjamin Carman scored twice in the 17th minute just 51 seconds apart.

Jackson Baker set up the first goal with a cross to the six-yard box and Carman tucked in a low finish.

Then, Caleb Knight's long ball was delivered by Asa Haley with Carman heading in his second to the far post from six yards out.

However, the Pioneers controlled most of the second half with goals in the 47th and 57th minutes.

The visitors had a 7-1 shot advantage over the final 45 minutes.

Sophomore goalkeeper Eben Dewhurst made two saves - both in the second half.

Malone finished with shot advantages of 11-6 overall and 4-2 on goal.
