CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Matthew Weller and Caleb Knight pounced on a pair of Davenport miscues to lead the Yellow Jackets to a 2-1 non-conference win.

It was the season opener for both sides.

Weller intercepted a pass deep in the Panther zone and ripped a 15-yard strike into the upper left corner in the 12th minute to give the hosts the early lead.

It stayed that way until Davenport leveled the match in the 83rd minute.

Less than a minute later, a high ball floated toward the visitors' net in which the Panther keeper misplayed right to the feet of Knight, who buried a short range shot high into the net.

Davenport outshot the Jackets 11-4 overall and 4-2 on goal. Goalkeeper Eben Dewhurst came up with three saves.

It was the first-ever men's soccer meeting between the two schools.
