The United Soccer Coaches Division II Preseason No. 7 Lakers found the net in the seventh minute for the game's lone tally.

Graduate student goalkeeper Brooke Ackley faced five shots total and made four saves.

GVSU outshot Cedarville 11-5 overall and 5-0 on goal.
