FINDLAY, Ohio –
Aiden Hibbard birdied the first playoff hole to claim medalist honors at the University of Findlay Doc Spragg Fall Invite.
Hibbard shot 70-72-70-212 (-4) at the 6,724 yard, par 72 Findlay Country Club.
The sophomore from Elkhart, Ind. is the first Yellow Jacket golfer to win a 54-hole tournament in 16 years with the program's second-best score ever posted.
Daniel Bailey totaled 80-74-71-225 (+9).
DJ Norman (74-78-75) and
Ian Reed (74-76-77) both turned in 227 (+11).
Huston Ritter carded rounds of 76-80-76-232 (+16).
Cedarville placed tenth with 294-300-292-886 (+22) which is the sixth-lowest 54-hole team score in program history.
Stinger Notes:
- Hibbard's previous best 54-hole score was 71-72-70-213 (+3) at the Trevecca Music City Invitational as a freshman.
- The last CU golfer to win a 54-hole event was Trevor Bowman, 71-72-68-211 (-5), at the Lindenwood Invitatonal on Sept. 22-23, 2009.
- Jordan Reese (2016 G-MAC Championship) and Cody Cogdill (2020 Malone Fall Invitational) both tied for first place in 54-hole tournaments, but lost in playoffs.
- Caden Scarbrough was the last Yellow Jacket to win medalist honors which came at the 36-hole 2023 Bethel Invitational.
- Cedarville heads to the NCCAA Men's Golf Championship in Palm Coast, Fla. on Oct. 20-22.
