PALM COAST, Fla. – NCCAA All-American
DJ Norman finished seventh and the Yellow Jackets took fourth place at the NCCAA Men's Golf Championship.
Norman turned in 77-71-71-219 (+3) to earn All-America recognition as one of the top ten finishers.
Cedarville, who held the lead heading into the final day following a school record mark in the second round, totaled 307-281-308-896.
The Jackets absorbed a jolt when No. 1 player
Aiden Hibbard had to withdraw early in the third round with an injury.
He began the day in second place at three-under par following rounds of 75 and a school record-tying 66 (-6).
Huston Ritter tied for 12th place with 77-71-77-225 (+9).
Ian Reed (78-73-78-229) placed 22nd and
Daniel Bailey (80-80-82-242) was 39th.
Reed and
Danny DeHimer were honored as NCCAA Scholar-Athletes. The list includes juniors, senior, and graduate students, who maintain a minimum 3.40 cumulative grade point average.
Ottawa AZ won the tournament by 16 shots with a three-day total of 875. Runner-up Wayland Baptist had 891 and Columbia International was third at 893.
