No. 10 Cedarville impressive in 4-0 result at Walsh

NORTH CANTON, Ohio - The United Soccer Coaches Division II No. 10 Yellow Jackets improved to 7-0-3 with a commanding 4-0 G-MAC victory at Walsh.

Cedarville jumped in front in the 34th minute when Michael Catanzarite was taken down in the box and Yonis Velasquez calmly converted the ensuing penalty kick.

Just four minutes later, Catanzarite doubled the lead by firing a 15-yard strike from a sharp angle on the right side off a setup from Amari Everage.

Pablo Novás Cortiñas made it 3-0 shortly after halftime, heading home a Jack Maust corner kick from close range in the 48th minute.

Alex Long capped the scoring in the 74th minute when he blasted a 12-yard strike high into the right corner.

Eben Dewhurst needed just one save to secure his league-leading fifth shutout of the year as the Jackets remain on top of the G-MAC table at 5-0-1.

Quotable: Head Coach Brett Faro
"Tonight was the culmination of what has been a good week of training. The guys have continued to be focused on the process of getting the most out of the group and I thought that showed tonight. Every game in the G-MAC is a unique challenge and every team is capable so we will enjoy the result but look forward to preparing well for a tough Ashland team Saturday."
