Cedarville hangs on to take three points at Walsh

NORTH CANTON, Ohio - The Lady Jackets continued their unbeaten run in G-MAC play with a 2-1 victory at Walsh at Larry Staudt Field.

Cedarville, 7-1-2 overall and 5-0-1 G-MAC, struck first in the 35th minute when Maddie McConnell launched a long ball up the left side from near midfield that Alli Graves tracked down and buried inside the right post from ten yards out.

The visitors doubled their lead early in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Sophie Weiler served a corner that Seren Johnson met with a header from six yards out for what proved to be the game-winning goal.

Walsh pulled one back in the 83rd minute, but goalkeeper Kaelan Swallow and the Lady Jacket defense held firm the rest of the way.

Swallow made two saves to improve her personal record to 5-0-1 this fall.

Quotable: Head Coach Jonathan Meade
"This was a great team effort. When players are down, the next player steps up. Alli Graves continues to have an impact now that she's healthy. I was happy to see her score again tonight."
