Quotable: Head Coach Brett Faro
"I'm extremely proud of this team. I think these guys have given so much to this season and represented Cedarville so well all year long. The guys executed extremely well today and in many ways probably deserved a better result. Rogers State is a very good team and I thought we had them in a difficult spot down the stretch. Good on them for finding the winner.
"I think we've seen first hand why we don't place our value and identity in this game. In one moment you can be at the top of the mountain and the next you're on the wrong end of a tough result. Our purpose and joy continues to be in Christ and I couldn't be prouder to be a part of this team and this program."
Stinger Notes:
- It was the first-ever meeting in any sport between the two schools.
- Rogers State had a 7-1 margin in corner kicks and committed more fouls, 14-6.
- It was CU's fourth NCAA appearance and their fourth time to reach the second round.
- Dewhurst's 0.53 goals against average is the program's second best in a single season behind Paulo Pinto (0.51 in 2014).
- The team's 12 shutouts tied the school record set twice previously (2013, 2014).
