KENOSHA, Wis. –
Emily Walsh earned All-America honors to pace the Lady Jackets to a seventh-place finish at the NCAA Division II Women's Cross Country Championship.
Walsh covered the 6,000 meters in 20:56.2 to place 31st overall at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course. The Top 40 finishers are All-Americans.
Cedarville's top five were separated by less than a minute with
Aubrey Hayes, 57th (21:22.1);
Savannah Golding, 67th (21:28.2);
Alyson Enns, 97th (21:47.5), and
Caroline Hamilton, 105th (21:52.7).
Rounding out the lineup were
Corinne Lynch, 135th (22:12.1) and
Hannah Hartenburg, 142nd (22:15.5). A total of 263 competitors started the race.
Midwest Region champion Grand Valley State won the 34-team event with 65 points and was followed by Colorado School of Mines (69), Wingate (131), Adams State (168), Western Colorado (206), UC-Colorado Springs (208), and Cedarville (303).
The seventh-place showing matches the best-ever for the Lady Jackets, who previously finished seventh in 2022.
