NCCAA ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
CEDARVILLE, Ohio –
Summer Swartwout,
Angela Williams, and
Matt Schaeckenbach are NCCAA Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week.
Swartwout, a sophomore sprinter from Cincinnati, won the 60 meter dash at the Wittenberg Opener with a school record time of 7.42 seconds.
The mark beat her previous record by 0.11 seconds. She also met the NCAA Division II provisional qualifying standard which currently ranks third in the country and she's No. 1 in the NCCAA.
Williams, a sophomore from Greenwich, Ohio, won the long jump at Wittenberg with a leap of 18-1 (5.51 meters) which ties for the eighth best jump in school history and tops the NCCAA list.
Schaeckenbach, a junior from Iowa City, Iowa placed third in the high jump at the Grand Valley State Holiday Open by clearing 6-10.75 (2.10 meters) to meet the NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark.
The effort is currently tied for third in the country in the NCAA and is No. 1 in the NCCAA. It's the best performance in the men's high jump at Cedarville in 21 years, tying for second place on the program's Top 10 list.
Additionally, Schaeckenbach is a provisional qualifier in the 60 meter hurdles with a fourth place time of 8.08 seconds at GVSU - also No. 1 in the NCCAA.
