Mackenzie Lashuay and
Camryn Taktak hit home runs to power Cedarville to a 9-5 win and gain a twinbill split at UVA Wise.
The Cavaliers pulled out a 6-5 result in the first game of the doubleheader.
Lashuay led off the game with a solo shot to right field. CU made it 4-0 in the third winning when
Brynley Rung doubled in two runs and
Ella Leonard doubled in another.
In the fourth, Lashuay added an RBI double and
Emilie Fout tacked on a two-run double.
Taktak gave the visitors a 9-3 cushion with a two-run bomb in the fifth.
Lashuay finished 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Fout and Taktak both had two hits and two runs batted in.
Freshman pitcher
Emma Wylie went the distance with two strikeouts for her first collegiate win.
In the opener, UVA Wise scored twice in the sixth inning and then held on for the victory.
Fout, Lashuay, Rung, and Taktak all contributed two hits apiece.
