CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Cedarville took both ends of a G-MAC doubleheader from visiting Malone in a pair of defensive battles.

The Lady Jackets increased their winning streak to five straight in clamping down on the visitors, 2-1 and 4-1.

The hosts made the most of three hits in claiming the first game.

After the Pioneers took a 1-0 lead in the third inning, CU got all three of its hits in the fourth to score twice.

Mackenzie Lashuay and Dana Croyts opened the frame with back-to-back singles.

One out later, Ella Leonard doubled off the wall in left to score both baserunners for her team-leading 21st and 22nd RBI of the season.

Winning pitcher Kara Adkins, 5-3, tossed the final four innings in relief.

In the second contest, the Jackets struck quickly with three runs in the first inning. Three of the teams four runs came across on wild pitches.

Lashuay and Caitlin Colley had two hits each for Cedarville, 13-18 overall and 8-2 G-MAC.

Lashuay, 1-5, went the first five innings in the circle for her first victory of the season. Emma Wylie tossed the final two frames and tied the single-season school record with her fourth save.
