ORLANDO, Fla. – Cedarville had an up-and-down day, splitting their matches with a 5-2 loss to California PA followed by a 5-2 win over Allegheny at USTA National Campus.
Against Cal PA, the Lady Jackets' only win in doubles play came from the No. 3 pair of
Faith Monson and
Molly Filpus, who secured a 6-4 victory.
In singles action, No. 1
Diana Ivanikhina delivered a dominant performance winning 6-1, 7-6 while No. 5
Faith Monson came through with a tough 6-4, 5-7, 10-6 win.
The Jackets, 6-5 overall, responded in their second match of the day against Allegheny.
Cedarville swept the doubles matches with victories from the No. 1 pair of Ivanikhina and
Paula Curci Micieli, No. 2
Susannah Prince and
Delia Guzic, and No. 3 Monson and Filpus.
In singles, despite some last-minute changes, the Lady Jackets remained in control.
No. 1 Ivanikhina and No. 2 Micieli earned straight-set wins while No. 4 Monson and No. 6
Madelyn Keenan added important points to seal the result.
