FINDLAY, Ohio –
Emma Kay Martin fired in 24 points and Cedarville closed strong to defeat Findlay, 70-60, at Niekamp Arena to halt a ten-game losing streak.
The Lady Jackets improved to 9-16 overall and 4-13 in the G-MAC with the road victory .
Cedarville set the tone early, shooting 52.9 percent in the opening quarter and taking a 21-14 lead after 10 minutes. The Lady Jackets extended the margin to nine at halftime and pushed the advantage to as many as 17 midway through the third period .
Martin made 9-of-15 shots and added five rebounds with three steals.
Ella Sellars contributed 16 points while
Cait Behling provided a spark off the bench with nine points on three made three-pointers.
Jenna Sandel added eight rebounds to help CU win the battle on the glass, 42-28 .
The Lady Jackets led for more than 33 minutes and never trailed in the second half . Findlay trimmed the deficit to six in the final minute, but Cedarville sealed the win at the free-throw line, where Martin and
Regan Hubert combined to go 4-for-4 in the closing seconds .
Cedarville finished with 32 points in the paint and forced 16 turnovers, converting those opportunities into 14 points .
