POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. – Emma Kay Martin scored 20 points to lead No. 5 seed Cedarville to an 80-45 romp over No. 4 Houghton in the first round of the NCCAA Championship.

The Lady Jackets advance to play host and No. 1 seed Ozarks in a semifinal contest on Thursday at 9:45 p.m. EDT.

Ella Sellars added 14 points for Cedarville, 13-16 overall and winners of five straight.

Cait Behling came off the bench with 13 points and Regan Hubert netted 10.

Leading 15-9 late in the first quarter, the Jackets exploded on a 25-point run over the next seven minutes to blow the game wide open.

CU outscored the Highlanders 32-5 in the second period and enjoyed a 51-14 bulge at the break.

Quotable: Head Coach Addy Miller
"We played about as well as we possibly could in the first half. Once we settled in, we defended well, rebounded effectively, and moved the ball with purpose to create good looks. I was disappointed with our start to the third quarter - we came out very undisciplined - but we battled back and finished the game strong. Excited for another one with this group tomorrow!"

Stinger Notes:
  • It was Martin's third game with 20 or more points.
  • CU made 12-of-15 free throws and controlled the boards, 39-32.
  • Chloe Downing grabbed a team-leading seven rebounds.
  • The defense forced the Highlanders into 21 turnovers while the offense committed just 11.
  • Cedarville and Houghton are former members of the NAIA American Mideast Conference.
  • The Lady Jackets have won all six meetings between the two schools.
