KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Lady Jackets opened their spring break schedule with a 5-2 tennis victory against Sioux Falls at Oak Street Park.
Cedarville pushed its record to 6-5 overall on the season.
CU swept all three doubles matches by identical 6-2 scores to secure the opening point. The winning pairings were No. 1
Diana Ivanikhina and
Delia Guzic; No. 2
Mariana Philipps and
Paula Curci Micieli; and No. 3
Faith Monson and
Grace Mahek.
In singles play, the Lady Jackets won four matches, three of which were decided by match tiebreakers.
Ivanikhina posted a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 1. Philipps battled back for a 4-6, 6-1, 10-5 win at No. 3, and Micieli secured a 6-1, 4-6, 10-6 decision at No. 4. Monson added a hard-fought 6-7 (5-7), 7-6, 10-8 victory in the fifth spot.
