CEDARVILLE, Ohio – Malone scored twice in each half to hand Cedarville a 4-1 G-MAC setback on Thursday night at Yellow Jacket Field.
The Pioneers took advantage of an own goal in the 11th minute before doubling their lead just over five minutes later. Cedarville generated four shots in the opening 45 minutes but entered halftime trailing, 2-0.
Malone added goals in the 58th and 77th minutes to extend the margin to four.
The Yellow Jackets continued to push forward and generated 10 of their 14 shots after halftime.
Daniel Arias broke through in the 83rd minute, finishing from three yards out following a scramble in the box.
Brady Johnson and
Alex Free were credited with assists.
Cedarville held a 14-7 advantage in total shots and put six attempts on goal.
Parker Burke led the Yellow Jackets with four shots.
Toby Edwards went the distance in goal and made one save.
The Yellow Jackets are 2-4-1 overall and 2-1-0 in the G-MAC. Their next match is Saturday against Thomas More.
