Biography
Alexa Winik is back for a final season with the Lady Jacket track & field team after another record-setting performance as the squad’s top sprinter......totaled 59 individual points during the indoor season.....earned NCCAA Indoor All-America honors as champion of the 400 meters with a 57.42 effort.....placed third in the 60 meters and the 200 meters at the NCCAA Indoor Championship with a time of 26.38 for All-America recognition.....captured the 400 meter title at the Findlay Division II Challenge.....won the 55 meter event in the season-opening Otterbein Invitational with a 7.38 outing.....member of the 4 x 200 meter relay team that posted a 1:48.48 effort to finish runner-up at the Cedarville Collegiate Indoor Invitational.....registered a team-high 99 individual points during the outdoor season.....named NAIA Outdoor All-American in the 400 meters by placing sixth in the event with a school record-tying 55.30.....NCCAA Outdoor Champion in the 200 and 400 meter events for All-America honors.....also earned NCCAA All-America recognition in the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 meter relay events.....voted American Mideast Conference Outstanding Performer of the Meet.....won the 200 and 400 meters while anchoring the runner-up 4 x 400 meter relay team at the AMC Championship....a winning time of 24.21 in the 200 meters set a new CU school record.....earned AMC First Team honors in the 200 and 400.....Capital One Academic All-District 4 College Division 1st Team accolades.....NAIA, NCCAA Indoor, NCCAA Outdoor, AMC Scholar-Athlete.
2010 - Team’s top scorer during the indoor season with 84 individual points....NAIA Indoor All-American in the 400 meters by placing third with a time of 56.65.....named NCCAA Indoor Outstanding Performer of the Meet.....NCCAA Indoor Champion in the 55 meters - broke her own with a 7.19 outing.....captured the 200 meter event at the NCCAA Indoor Championship with a season-best 25.41 performance.....part of the 4 x 400 meter relay team that placed third in 4:04.91.....NCCAA Indoor All-American for second straight year.....produced a second-best 85 individual outdoor points.....NAIA All-American in the 400 meters.....NCCAA Outdoor Champion in the 200 meters with a 24.85 effort......runner-up in the 400 meters (55.70) to earn NCCAA All-America recognition.....All-American Mideast Conference First Team in both the 100 and 200 meters - took the 100 meter title with a time of 12.70 and won the 200 meter event in 25.34.....owns nine of the Top 10 fastest times in the 200 meters at CU.
2009 - Set four CU records during her freshman campaign.....named NCCAA Indoor Outstanding Performer of the Meet.....NCCAA Indoor Champion in the 55 meters, 200 meters and the 4 x 400 meter relay to earn All-America honors as her 7.23 effort in the 55 meters set a new school standard.....posted a school record 7.78 performance in the 60 meter prelims at the NAIA Indoor Championship.....NCCAA Outdoor Champion in the 100 and 200 meters for All-America accolades.....member of the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 meter NCCAA All-America squads.....captured American Mideast Conference 100, 200 meter titles and part of winning 4 x 400 relay quartet.....posted a new school record of 24.65 in the 200 meters at the Canada Games Trials.....totalled 74 individual outdoor points.
High School - Participated in four sports at Maranatha Christian Secondary School.....part of four consecutive SWOSSAA Single A Track & Field Championships.....member of the 2008 WECSSAA Senior Girls Division Championship team..... earned City All-Star First Team honors in 2008.....three-time WECSSAA and SWOSSAA Individual Female Champion.....holds the WECSSAA record in the 100 meters (12.48) and the 400 meters (57.42).....SWOSSAA record holder in the 200 meters (24.99) and the 400 meters (56.39).....named the female track athlete Windsor-Essex Sports Person of the Year (WESPY).....also participated in basketball for three seasons.....team earned the All-City Tier II Division Championship in 2006..... finished as runner-up in 2007.....named to the All-Star A Team as a senior.....two-year participant in volleyball.....squad captured the 2008 All City Tier II Division title.....finished second in 2007.....also ran cross country for one season.....named high school’s Athlete of the Year as a senior.
