Biography

Neola Putnam returns for a fourth season with the Lady Jacket track & field squad.....ran in all seven of the cross country meets this past fall as Cedarville’s #2 runner.....posted a new career-best time of 18:42 to finish in 20th position of 189 runners at the Wisconsin-Parkside Invitational.....came in with an 18:59 effort at the Friendship Invitational.....runner-up at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championship with a time of 19:29 as CU captured the first-ever G-MAC banner.....earned G-MAC First Team honors......runner-up at the season-opening University of Dayton Challenge with a 19:30 performance.....NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.

2011-12 - Tallied 52 individual points during the 2012 indoor/outdoor campaigns.....won the mile run with an indoor-best outing of 5:13.19 at the National Christian College Athletic Association Championship to earn All-America honors.....garnered the mile run title at the Cedarville Collegiate Indoor Invitational with a time of 5:15.73.....runner-up in both the 5,000 meters (18:33.00) and the 3,000 meter steeplechase (11:51.00) as Cedarville won the outdoor Ohio Independent Championship banner.....NCCAA Indoor and Outdoor Scholar-Athlete.....ran in five of the six CU cross country meets....the team’s third-best runner in three meets.....put together two under 20-minute efforts at Cedarville’s Elvin R. King Cross Country Course.....recorded a season-best 19:24 at the Friendship Invitational and followed up with a 19:44 effort at the All-Ohio Championship.....earned NCCAA Scholar-Athlete honors.

2010-11 - Scored 23 individual indoor points....captured the mile run title at the season-opening Otterbein Invitational with a 5:27.03 performance.....finished third in the 3,000 meters at the Cedarville Collegiate Indoor Invitational.....placed fourth at the NCCAA Indoor Championship with a season-best time of 10:36.19 in the 3,000 meter event.....tallied 43 individual outdoor points for the Lady Jackets.....NCCAA All-America honors in the 1,500 meters for a third-place season-best finish in 4:44.80.....won the 800 meters at the Cedarville Collegiate Outdoor Invitational with a season-best 2:19.64 performance.....placed third in the 800 meters at the American Mideast Conference Championship with a time of 2:24.15.....posted runner-up finishes in the 1,500 meters at both the Miami RedHawk Invitational and the University of Cincinnati Early Bird.....NCCAA Indoor Scholar-Athlete.....member of the nationally-ranked CU cross country team that finished tenth at the NAIA National Championship.....recorded career-best effort of 18:35 on two separate occasions - at the Walsh-Malone Invitational and the American Mideast Conference Championship to earn All-AMC Second Team recognition.....CU’s second-fastest finisher at the season-opening University of Dayton Challenge with a 19:14 effort.....also Cedarville’s number two runner at the All-Ohio Intercollegiate Championship with an 18:59 performance to place 67th of 277 runners.

2009-10 - Produced a notable season on the track in the distance events.....NCCAA Outdoor All-American in the 4 x 800 meter relay.....NAIA qualifier in the indoor distance medley relay and the outdoor 1,500.....key member as a rookie on cross country squad that placed 6th in the NAIA and repeated as NCCAA champions.....competed in all eight varsity meets and was among CU’s top five finishers each time out.....NCCAA All-American placing 15th out of 134 runners in 19:18 for the 5K.....turned in a season-best time of 19:17 at Aquinas to finish 21st of 225.....AMC honorable mention in 19:56..... Jackets’ #4 finisher at NAIA Nationals in 20:03.

High School - Produced an outstanding distance running career at Glenwood High School.....2008 Washington State Class B cross country champion as a senior in a time of 19:18 for the 5K....placed 3rd in the state as a sophomore (19:55) and 5th as a junior (20:17).....four-year letter winner on the track.....three-time state champion in the 800 meters and two-time 1,600 meter winner.....posted a personal-best of 2:18 in the 800; 5:15 in the 1,600; and 11:57 in the 3,200.....guided team to three consecutive state track & field crowns.

Personal - Dean’s List student as a mechanical engineering major at Cedarville University.....born 6/29/91 in White Salmon, WA.....daughter of Nathan and Betsy Putnam.....both parents were cross country skiers at the University of Maine at Orono.....has an older sister, an older brother, a younger sister, and a younger brother.
