Cedarville University Yellow Jackets

Anna Pomento is in her third year as a thrower with the CU women’s track & field team after transferring from Bowling Green State University.....two-year member of the BGSU track & field squad.....recorded 35 individual points last season - 12 indoor and 23 outdoor.....highlight of the 2014 indoor season was a first-place finish in the shot put at the Cedarville Collegiate Indoor Invitational with a mark of 40-6.75.....captured the shot put (38-1.5) and the discus (188-8) titles at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Outdoor Championships.....top effort in the shot put was a heave of 39-7.75 to place 14th at the Indiana University Invitational.....best discus performance was 133-2 to place tenth at the All-Ohio Championships.....member of the G-MAC First Team..... National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Scholar-Athlete.....G-MAC Academic Team.

2013 - Produced a solid campaign with the Lady Jackets......set a new school record with a 40-2.75 heave in the shot put at the indoor Cedarville Collegiate Invitational.....also owns the second-best all-time shot put mark of 38-8.25 set at the Youngstown State Invitational.....best shot put effort during the outdoor season was a 41-7.25 school record performance at the National Christian College Athletic Association Championship to earn fourth-place honors.....a 39-5 outing at the All-Ohio Championship is tied for second-best all-time at Cedarville.....a 38-10.5 heave at the Cedarville Collegiate All-Comers Meet ranks third all-time at CU.....earned NCCAA All-America recognition in the discus with a third-place 137-8 effort - fourth-best all-time at Cedarville.

2012 - Finished sixth in the shot put at the indoor Wright Classic with a distance of 36-7.75.....recorded a season-best 38-0.25 effort in the shot put at the Mid-America Conference Indoor Championship.....recorded outdoor season-bests of 37-6 in the shot put (All-Ohio), 129-4 in the discus (Ball State Invite) and 96-9 in the javelin (Ball State Invite).

2011 - Did not compete during the indoor season.....placed 16th at the Mid-America Conference Championship in the javelin with a season-best throw of 30.43 meters.....had a season-best discus effort of 34.54 meters at the Toledo Collegiate Challenge.....best shot put performance came in at the Eastern Michigan University Twilight with a throw of 10.85 meters.....placed third in the javelin at the NW Ohio Relays and seventh at the Ohio Team Challenge.

High School - Produced a four-sport prep career at Athens High School.....three-year letter winner in track & field.....member of two Tri-Valley Conference league title squads.....two-time all-state honoree in the discus.....all-league, all-district and all-regional performer as a senior.....set school record with a 130-6 effort in the discus.....two-time TVC discus champion.....earned all-district and all-regional honors in the shot put.....set school record as a senior with a 39-2 performance.....earned three letters in softball.....three-time all-district recognition and two-time all-league honoree.....two-year letter winner in basketball.....earned one letter in soccer.....voted school’s Athlete of the Year as a senior.....National Honor Society student.

Personal - Dean’s List student as an international studies missiology major at Cedarville University.....born 12/20/91 in Athens, OH.....daughter of Nick and Mary Beth Pomento.....father played two seasons of football at BGSU.....has one younger sister and a younger brother.
