Cedarville University Yellow Jackets

James Blackwell returns for his fourth and final season with the Yellow Jackets.....made the transition from the multi-events to concentrate on the pole vault as a junior.....qualified for the NCAA Division II Indoor Championship.....placed 9th by clearing 16-feet 0.75-inches.....top indoor mark was 16-1.75 which placed 5th at the Indiana Hoosier Hills.....G-MAC pole vault champion at 15-7.....named to the USTFCCCA Division II All-Region Team in the pole vault both indoors and outdoors.....owns the top two decathlon marks in school history.....possesses the top five school point totals in the heptathlon.....G-MAC Academic Team.

2013 - Repeated as the NCCAA decathlon champion with 6,598 points.....set the school record of 6,656 points at the Mt. SAC Relays/California Invitational.....qualified for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championship placing 15th.....NCCAA indoor champion in the heptathlon with a school-record 5,038 points.....qualified for the NCAA Division II Indoor Championship and finished 12th with 5,012.....named to the USTFCCCA Division II All-Region Team both indoors and outdoors.....NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.

2012 - NCCAA outdoor champion in the decathlon with 6,478 points.....placed 3rd at Cincinnati with 5,941.....finished the year with the top two indoor marks in school history in the heptathlon.....totaled 4,611 points to win the Cedarville Invitational.....racked up 4,493 as the runner-up at Findlay.....Ohio Independent Championship winner in the outdoor pole vault by clearing 14-feet even (4.27m).

High School - Four-year letter winner in track & field at Clare High School.....earned all-state honors in the 110 meter hurdles and the pole vault.....named conference MVP as a senior.....all-region performer in the 110 hurdles, pole vault, and the long jump.....picked up all-conference recognition in all three events as well as the 300 meter hurdles.....registered personal bests in the pole vault (14-3), long jump (20-7.75), 110 hurdles (15.2), and 300 hurdles (41.8).....named all-region and all-conference in soccer as a four-year letter winner.....graduated with academic honors.
