Cedarville University Yellow Jackets

Valerie Kirk is in her final year as a hurdler/sprinter with the Lady Jacket track & field program.....participated in only the 2014 indoor season.....placed second in the 55 meter hurdles with a season-best time of 8.73 and finished sixth in the 200 meters (28.37) at the Cedarville Collegiate Indoor Invitational.....National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Scholar-Athlete.....Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Academic Team.

2013 - Tallied 54 individual points during the campaign.....posted an indoor season-best time of 8.7 seconds in the prelims of the 55 meter hurdles at the Cedarville Collegiate Invitational.....placed sixth in the 60 meter hurdles (9.35) in the finals of the National Christian College Athletic Association Indoor Championship.....a 2,744 point total in the pentathlon at the University of Findlay Classic ranks as the ninth-best all-time at Cedarville.....also participated in the high jump, long jump and shot put during the indoor season.....fastest time of the outdoor campaign in the 100 meter hurdles was a sixth-place 15.31 at the University of Cincinnati Early Bird Relays.....garnered the 100 meter hurdle event (16.31) and took second in the 400 meter hurdles (1:08.29) at the Cedarville Collegiate All-Comers Meet.....a 1:06.13 performance in the 400 meter hurdles prelims at the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Championship was the top effort of the campaign.

2012 - Totaled a fourth-best 81 individual points during the indoor/outdoor season.....captured the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Indoor 55 meter hurdles event with a season-best time of 8.49 seconds - third-fastest all-time at Cedarville.....member of the 4 x 200 meter relay quartet that placed second at the NCCAA Indoor Championship with a 1:50.24 outing - ninth-best all-time at Cedarville.....posted the eighth-fastest all-time effort at CU of 9.27 in the 60 meter hurdles at the Indiana University Hoosier Hills meet.....earned NCCAA Indoor All-America recognition in both the 55 meter hurdles and the 4 x 200 meter relay.....garnered NCCAA Outdoor All-America honors in the 100 meter hurdles with a third-place finish (15.04).

High School - Produced a two-sport career at Winfield High School.....four-year letter winner in track.....member of 2008 state championship squad.....team earned 2011 district title.....two-time all-state honors in the 100 meter hurdles.....two-time all-state recognition in the 300 meter hurdles event.....three-time all-region honors in 100 meter hurdles and two-time all-region in 300 meter hurdles.....holds school record in the 100 meter hurdles with a 14.99 performance.

Personal - Exercise science major at Cedarville University.....born 9/19/92 in Whiteman, MO.....daughter of Douglas and Shelly Kirk.....older sister, Christi, participated in track and cross country at Black Hills State.
