Biography

Brittany Simpson will serve as a team captain during her fourth and final season with the Lady Jackets.....finished among the team’s top four finishers in all eight meets as a junior.....cracked the 19:00 barrier six times.....NCCAA All-American with a time of 18:31 to finish 6th.....team’s #3 runner at the NAIA Championship placing 32nd overall in 18:27.....finished 4th in the NAIA Region IX Championship with a career-best effort of 18:12 for American Mideast Conference First Team honors.....finished 30th of 296 runners in the All-Ohio Intercollegiate.....NAIA Outdoor All-American on the track in the 5,000 meters.....NCCAA All-American in the indoor 4 x 800 as well as the outdoor 1,500 and 5K.....AMC champion in the 4 x 800.....NAIA and NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.

2006 - Ran in all eight meets as a sophomore and placed among the team’s top six finishers each time out.....broke the 20:00 barrier seven times.....posted a season-best time of 19:03 at the AMC/NAIA Region IX Championship to garner All-AMC Second Team recognition for the second straight year with a 12th-place finish.....turned in a time of 19:42 at the NAIA Championship for national runner-up team.....placed 16th at the NCCAA Nationals to narrowly miss All-America honors by one spot.....member of the track & field squad.

2005 - Placed among the team’s top seven finishers in all eight meets.....posted a season-best time of 19:00 in the 5K at the NCCAA Nationals which placed 18th overall.....All-AMC Second Team honoree with a 12th-place showing in 19:16.....finished 79th of 259 runners at the NAIA Nationals in 19:11.....NCCAA Outdoor All-American on the track with a 3rd-place effort in the 5,000 meters with a career-best 18:13.38.....qualified for the NAIA Indoor Nationals in the 5K.

High School - Three-year letter winner in cross country at Kennebunk High School.....placed 4th in the state Class A state meet as a senior.....runner-up in the Western Maine Class A meet and achieved the SMAA Academic Excellence Award.....named team’s Most Valuable Runner and was an SMAA All-Star.....state runner-up as a senior on the track in the mile run with a time of 5:08.....voted team’s MVP and was an SMAA All-Star.....recognized as school’s 2004-05 Female Athlete of the Year.....SMAA 1,600 meter champion as a junior.....also participated in basketball and softball.....National Honor Society student.

Personal - Dean’s List student as an early childhood education major at Cedarville University.....born 7/9/86 in Portland, ME.....daughter of Bill and Bev Simpson.....has one older sister and a younger brother.
