Alaina Spears is in her fourth year with the Lady Jackets.....competed in five meets and was among the team’s top seven finishers each time.....placed 31st of 220 runners in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional in a 6K PR of 21:48.....CU’s #5 finisher at the NCAA Division II Championship in 22:26.....placed 28th of 295 in the All-Ohio Championship in 22:46.....posted a career-best 5K of 18:45 in the Friendship Invitational.....distance runner on the track & field team.....G-MAC Indoor Second Team as the runner-up in the 5,000 meters.....G-MAC outdoor champion in the 10K in 38:08.56.....G-MAC Outdoor First Team.....USTFCCCA Division II All-Academic.....NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.....G-MAC Academic Team.
2015 - Ran in the final six meets of her sophomore season and placed in the Top 7 each time.....placed 19th out of 142 competitors in the NCCAA championship in a season-best 5K of 19:04.....member of NCCAA title squad.....finished 86th of 224 in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional 6K in a season-best 23:05.....competed in the indoor 3K and outdoor 5K during the track & field seasons.....G-MAC Academic Team.
2014 - Saw action in five varsity meets as a freshman.....best 5K time was 19:53 to place 10th overall in the Cedarville Open.....finished 16th in the G-MAC Championship in a personal-best 6K mark of 23:47.....distance runner during the track & field season.....named to the G-MAC Outdoor All-Freshmen Team.
High School - Two-year letter winner in cross country at Tri-Valley High School.....earned All-Muskingum Valley League honors as a junior and senior.....All-Central District performer as a senior.....2013 regional and state qualifier.....two-time team most valuable runner.....picked up four letters in softball.....member of two MVL title teams and one sectional championship squad.....lettered twice in gymnastics.....Academic All-Ohio.
Personal - Dean’s List student as a pharmacy major at Cedarville University.....born 3/19/96 in Zanesville, OH.....daughter of Christopher Spears and Marna Spears.....older brother, Brandon, played three seasons on the Yellow Jacket golf team.....also has a younger sister, Breanna.
