Biography

Lydia Wong is back for her fourth season as Cedarville’s top returning distance runner.....repeated as an NAIA All-American for the national runner-up Lady Jackets finishing 22nd of 327 runners in a career-best 17:59 for the 5K.....NCCAA All-American for third straight time placing 5th in 18:37 to help CU to national title.....picked up All-American Mideast Conference First Team honors for third year in a row in 19:20 to end up 6th.....repeated as Cedarville Open champion in 18:32.....played key role on CU’s All-Ohio Championship team by placing 8th overall in 18:29.....NAIA Indoor All-American on the track in the mile and an Outdoor All-American in the 1,500 meters as the national runner-up.....NCCAA indoor mile champion and outdoor winner in the 800 and 1,500.....AMC champ in four events.....holds three indoor school records and two outdoors.....NAIA and NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.

2007 - Experienced an outstanding sophomore year with the Lady Jackets.....NAIA All-American upon grabbing the 30th and final position with a time of 18:26.....repeated as an NCCAA All-American placing 3rd overall in 18:27.....turned in a season-best 18:18 effort in the 5K at the AMC/NAIA Region IX Championship to finish 4th.....All-AMC First Team performer.....Cedarville Open champion in 18:40.....runner-up at Southeast Classic and Shawnee State Invitational.....flourished on the track as an NAIA All-American in the indoor mile and outdoor 1,500.....NCCAA All-American in the indoor mile and 800 as well as the outdoor 800 and 1,500.....AMC champion in the 800; 1,500 and 4 x 800.

2006 - Made an immediate impact as a freshman.....participated in all eight varsity meets and finished the season as the team’s #4 runner.....NCCAA All-American with a 12th-place effort in 19:43 for the 5K.....finished 4th out of 131 runners in the AMC/NAIA Region IX Championship with a season-low time of 18:29 for All-AMC First Team honors.....placed 42nd at the NAIA Championship in 18:55.....NAIA Indoor All-American on the track in the mile and 4 x 800 meter relay.....NCCAA Indoor All-American in the mile.....AMC champion in the 1,500 meters and 4 x 800....qualified for the NAIA Outdoor Championship in the 1,500.

High School - Homeschool graduate and three-year varsity cross country runner at Northern York High School....two-time state qualifier.....placed 31st in the 2005 state championship as a senior with a time of 19:32 for the 5K.....cross country team captain.....two-year varsity track & field competitor.....posted career-best times of 2:17.86 in the 800 meters; 5:20.74 in the 1,600; and 19:06 in the 5K.....state qualifier in the 800 meters and 4 x 800 relay.

Personal - Dean’s Honor List student as a social work major at Cedarville University.....born 2/1/89 in Lubbock, TX.....daughter of Leonard and Elizabeth Wong.....older brother, Andrew, is a 2007 CU graduate.....younger sisters Rachel and Abby are in their second and first years, respectively, as distance runners with the Lady Jackets.....also has two younger brothers.
