Biography
Carolyn Case is a fourth-year distance runner with the Lady Jackets.....ran in the season opener as a junior, missed the next three outings with injury, and then bounced back to compete in the final two events.....team’s #3 finisher and was 36th overall out of 184 runners in the NCCAA Championship in a season-best mark of 19:56.....NCCAA Scholar-Athlete in both cross country and track & field.
2010 - Got off to a slow start as a sophomore but recovered to run in CU’s top seven in her final four outings.....picked up All-American Mideast Conference Second Team honors by placing 12th with a career-best 5K mark of 18:38.....finished 14th at Walsh in 19:08.....Jackets’ #3 runner and placed 83rd of 331 at the NAIA Championship in 19:12.
2009 - Produced an exceptional rookie season with the Lady Jackets.....#3 runner on a squad that placed 6th in the NAIA and won its fourth straight NCCAA banner.....NCCAA All-American by finishing 12th in 19:04 for the 5K.....All-AMC First Team performer with a 7th-place effort in a season-best time of 19:01.....CU’s #3 finisher at the NAIA placing 42nd of 330 runners in 19:16.....finished 8th of 225 at Aquinas in 19:02.....AMC runner-up on the track in the 1,500 meters.....NAIA qualifier in the indoor 1,000 meters and the outdoor 1,500.
High School - Four-year letter winner in cross country and track at Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy.....helped Royals win the 2008 Ohio Division II cross country championship by placing 13th overall in 19:12.....member of Division II state runner-up squad in 2007.....three-time All-Ohio performer placing 7th in the state Division III meet as a freshman and 22nd as a sophomore.....four-time All-Principals Athletic Conference honoree in cross country.....ran for Ohio in 2008 Mid-East Cross Country Championships placing 16th overall in 18:55.....enjoyed an outstanding career on the track as part of CVCA’s 2008 and 2009 Ohio Division II championship teams.....1,600 meter runner-up as a senior in 5:01.19 and member of 4 x 800 relay squad that placed 3rd.....finished 5th in the 1,600 as a junior and was part of 4 x 800 relay team that won state title.....four-time All-PAC with multiple league titles in individual and relay events.....PAC and Team MVP as a senior.....competed for champion Ohio team in the 2009 Midwest Meet of Champions placing 4th in the 1,600 in 4:59.48.....Akron Touchdown Club honoree.
Personal - Dean’s List student as a psychology major at Cedarville University.....born 5/26/91 in Oakwood, OH.....daughter of Paul and Tina Case.....has one older brother and a younger brother.
