Biography
Joy Kellogg is back for her final season as the top player for the Lady Jacket tennis squad.....posted a 14-6 record at #1 singles in 2009-10.....paired up with freshman Brooke Johnson at #1 doubles to register an 11-10 mark.....has a 30-20 all-time singles record.....captured her season-opening singles win against NCAA II Tiffin - a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 decision.....tallied a 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) #1 singles win over NCAA III Wittenberg.....produced the lone CU point in an American Mideast Conference Tournament Semifinal setback at Walsh - a 1-6, 6-3, 6-1 singles verdict.....named to the NCCAA All-America First Team in both singles and doubles.....an American Mideast Conference Team selection in singles and doubles.....NAIA, NCCAA and AMC Scholar-Athlete.
2009 - Put together a 6-8 record at #1 singles.....combined with Carissa Parmerlee at #1 doubles for an 8-9 tally.....helped lead CU to first win of the season with a convincing 6-0, 6-0 victory at #1 singles versus NCAA Division III Wilmington.....posted one of the two Cedarville points - a 6-4, 6-4 win at #1 singles - in a loss to NCAA Division III Grove City.....paired up with Carissa Parmerlee at #1 doubles for a hard-fought 9-7 AMC win at Malone.....earned both CU points in a 7-2 non-conference loss to Indiana-Southeast - a 6-2, 6-1 #1 singles win and an 8-2 decision at #1 doubles......garnered NCCAA All-America First Team honors in singles.....named NCCAA All-America Second Team performer in doubles.....member of the AMC Team in both singles and doubles.
2008 - Produced a successful rookie year.....completed the campaign with a 10-6 record at #2 singles and a 10-8 mark with partner Melinda Workman at #1 doubles.....named to the NCCAA All-America First Team and the All-AMC Team in singles and doubles.....posted a 6-1, 6-2 win at #2 singles against North Greenville in CU’s opening round 5-1 win at the NCCAA national tournament.....produced Cedarville’s lone point versus Walsh in the NAIA Region IX Tournament .....tallied the only point for CU in a #2 doubles win against Michigan Tech during spring break in Florida.
High School - Three-year letter winner in tennis at Findlay High School.....team earned three consecutive Greater Buckeye Conference championships.....three-time GBC Player of the Year.
Personal - Dean’s List student as a marketing major at Cedarville University.....born 9/8/88 in East Ridge, TN.....daughter of Rev. Jerry and Beth Kellogg.....younger sister, Amy, is a junior at CU.
