Biography

Lydia Wong begins her final season with the CU women’s track squad after producing a stellar four-year cross country career with the Lady Jackets......NAIA All-American for an 18th place of 330 runners at the NAIA Championship with a 18:37 effort.....runner-up at the NCCAA Championships with a 18:33 performance to earn All-America honors and lead CU to its fourth straight title.....an 18:12 effort garnered a runner-up spot at the American Mideast Conference Championship.....produced a season-best 17:53 at the Aquinas Invitational.....NAIA, NCCAA and AMC Scholar-Athlete.

2008-09 - Garnered NAIA Indoor All-America honors with a sixth-place finish in the mile run in 5:01.58.....NCCAA Indoor champion in the mile to earn All-America accolades.....NCCAA Outdoor champion in the 800 and 1,500 meters for All-America honors.....member of the NCCAA All-America 4 x 400 meter relay squad.....American Mideast Conference champion in the 800, 1,500 meters, plus the 4 x 400 and 4 x 800 relay units.....NAIA, NCCAA Indoor, NCCAA Outdoor and AMC Scholar-Athlete.....repeated as a cross country NAIA All-American for the national runner-up Lady Jackets finishing 22nd of 327 runners in a career-best 17:59 for the 5K.....garnered the CU Open individual title for the second consecutive year with a time of 18:32.....helped CU win a third consecutive NCCAA banner with a fifth-place finish (18:37) to earn All America honors.....placed in the top eight finishers in seven of eight meets.....named an NAIA and NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.

2007-08 - Registered 56 individual points during the 2008 indoor campaign.....set a school record in the 800 meters (2:15.70) and the mile (4:54.79).....won the 800 meters at the Findlay Open, Ohio Northern Invitational and the Cedarville Invitational.....placed second in the mile at the NAIA Indoor Nationals to earn All-America honors.....posted 67 individual outdoor points during the spring season.....set a new school standard in the 1,500 meters with a 4:32.15 effort at the NAIA Outdoor Championship for All-America accolades.....won the 1,500 meter title at both the AMC Championships and the Emory Invitational.....earned NCCAA All-America honors in both the 800 and 1,500 meters.....named to the AMC First Team in the 800, 1,500 and 4 x 800 meter relay.....ran in every cross country meet for the NAIA national runner-up Lady Jackets.....won the individual title at the Cedarville Open with an 18:40 effort......finished second at both the Shawnee State Invitational (18:23) and the Southeast Classic (18:37).....career-best performance of 18:18 produced a seventh-place finish at the AMC/NAIA Region IX Championship and a spot on the All-AMC First Team.

2006-07 - Scored 106 individual points during the 2007 Indoor/Outdoor campaigns.....set a new school record for the indoor mile with a 5:04.75 effort at the NAIA Indoor Championships to place third and garner NAIA All America honors.....part of the school record-setting 4 x 800 meter relay squad (9:12.94) that finished third at the NAIA Indoor meet to earn All America status.....placed tenth in the 1,500 meters at the NAIA Outdoor Championships with a time of 4:44.48.....won the 1,500 meter title at the AMC Championships with a 4:48.57 effort to earn All-AMC First Team honors.....placed second in the 800 meters (2:21.33) at the AMC meet.....member of the victorious 4 x 800 meter relay unit that won the event at the AMC Championships with an NAIA qualifying time of 9:15.77.....ran in all eight cross country meets for the NAIA national runner up Lady Jackets.....posted a season-best effort of 18:29 to place fourth of 131 runners at the NAIA Region IX meet.....12th-place finish (19:43) at the NCCAA Nationals helped CU garner the championship banner.....ran an 18:55 to finish 42nd of 268 participants at the NAIA Nationals.

High School - Homeschool graduate and three-year varsity cross country runner at Northern York High School.....two-time state qualifier.....placed 31st in the 2005 state championship as a senior with a time of 19:32 for the 5K.....cross country team captain..... two-year varsity track & field competitor.....posted career-best times of 2:17.86 in the 800 meters; 5:20.74 in the 1,600; and 19:06 in the 5K.....state qualifier in the 800 meters and 4 x 800 relay.

Personal - Social work major at Cedarville University.....born 2/1/89 in Lubbock, TX.....daughter of Leonard and Elizabeth Wong.....older brother, Andrew, is a 2007 CU graduate.....younger sister, Rachel, is a sophomore distance runner with the Lady Jackets.....younger sister, Abby, is a freshman member of the CU distance running program.....also has two younger brothers.
