Cedarville University Yellow Jackets

Grant Bacon is a third-year race walker with the Yellow Jackets.....qualified for the NAIA Championships both indoors and outdoors for the second year in a row.....placed 14th in the indoor 3K walk in 15:23.37 and was 18th in the outdoor 5K in 26:43.50.....finished 7th in the 5K walk in the American Mideast Conference in 26:07.23.

2008 - Qualified for the NAIA Outdoor Championship in the 5K race walk and placed 8th in 25:18.79.....finished 3rd in the AMC in 25:20.36.....best time was 25:05.70 in the Cedarville Open.....top indoor time in the 3K walk was 15:23 at Findlay.....qualified for the NAIA Indoor Championship.

High School - Three-year letter winner at Skowhegan Area High School where he was the Maine Class A state champion in the race walk.....placed 3rd in the Nike Outdoor National 1 mile walk.....finished 6th in the 10K at the Junior National Championships.....holds the school record in the 1 mile walk in 7:12.33 and owns the Kennebee Valley Community Cup record at 7:30.....school-record holder in the pole vault.....served as a team captain in both cross country and track.....participated in three seasons of soccer with one letter earned.

Personal - Dean’s List student as a political science and public administration double major at Cedarville University.....born 8/31/89 in Lewiston, ME.....son of Blaine Bacon and Sandra Bacon.....has two younger brothers and three younger sisters.
