Cedarville University Yellow Jackets

Chris Vaughn is back for his final season of distance running on the track with the Yellow Jackets.....appeared in seven varsity cross country meets and was among the team’s top seven finishers six times.....set a career-best in the 8K of 25:50 at Aquinas placing 34th of 313.....American Mideast Conference honorable mention with a 16th-place showing in 26:09.....team’s #5 finisher at the NAIA Championship.

2009-10 - NCCAA Indoor All-American in the 3,000 meters by finishing 3rd in 8:46.71.....qualified for the NAIA Indoor Championship in the event.....posted a career-best time in the 3,000 meter steeplechase of 9:30.34 at Louisville.....placed 3rd in the AMC steeple, 5th in the NCCAA, and qualified for the NAIA Outdoor Championship.....NCCAA All-American during the cross country season as a junior placing 13th in 26:43.....recorded season-best mark of 26:21 at Aquinas.....AMC honorable mention with a 21st-place effort in 27:07.....appeared in all eight varsity meets.

2008-09 - NCCAA Indoor All-American on the track as a part of a 4 x 800 meter relay squad that finished 3rd.....ran the steeplechase during the outdoor season.....season-best time was 9:46.42 at Cincinnati.....placed 4th in the AMC (9:53.05) and 4th in the NCCAA (9:59.30).....competed in five varsity cross country meets as a sophomore.....recorded a season-best time of 27:12 to place 27th of 91 runners in the Cedarville Open.

2007-08 - Placed 5th in the steeplechase at the AMC Championship in a season-best time of 10:01.88.....finished 9th in the NCCAA in 10:16.27.....ran the mile during the indoor season with a best time of 4:35.31 at Capital.....part of Cedarville’s nationally-ranked cross country team.....posted a season-best time of 28:14 at the NAIA Region IX Championship which placed 46th of 127 runners.....clocked in 28:19 at the Southeastern Classic as the Jackets’ #5 finisher to end up 44th of 191 overall.

High School - Ran one season of cross country and earned a letter at White Station High School.....squad won the West Tennessee regional championship.....achieved two letters in track & field.....participated in two seasons of football and one year of wrestling.....National Honor Society student.

Personal - Biology/pre-medicine major at Cedarville University.....born 10/7/88 in Millington, TN.....son of David and Susan Vaughn.....has one older sister and a younger sister.
