HISTORY
The Cedarville University Athletic Hall of Fame was established in 1984 at the suggestion of the Yellow Jacket Club and with the approval of the school’s administrative council.
The purpose and objective of the Hall of Fame is to give special recognition to former Yellow Jacket athletes and coaches, who earned significant achievements while at Cedarville; to individuals who have devoted years of faithful ministry to Yellow Jacket athletics through meritorious service; and to alumni who have made a marked contribution to athletics outside of Cedarville University.
While recognizing achievement within the athletic arena, one of the foremost criteria for induction to the Hall is that each individual must possess clear evidence of an ongoing personal relationship with Jesus Christ and demonstrate a lifestyle consistent with Cedarville University’s mission, values, and standards..
The award presented to meritorious service inductees of the Cedarville University Athletic Hall of Fame was officially renamed the Nedra Callan Meritorious Service Award in 2005. It recognizes her more than 40 years of faithful supportive ministry to Yellow Jacket athletics and honors other individuals who have demonstrated the same passion for such a ministry. Individuals for this award need not be a graduate of Cedarville University, must have a minimum of 15 years of service to Yellow Jacket athletics, and must possess godly character and integrity.
