The team was split once again into three groups as we went to three different meets this past Friday and Saturday. For most of the senior girls, this was their last meet of their college career. They gave everything they got and left it all on the track or the field. The rest of the team are experiencing bittersweet emotions as they graduate this coming weekend and we will pray for them as they go out into the world and start their careers.
For the majority of the team, we are wrapping up the season with the G-MAC meet this weekend. The meet is at Hillsdale College in Michigan and it’s a three-day meet starting Thursday. We’re excited to compete in our last meet of the year and ready to give everything we have. But, there’s several girls who are going to a meet next weekend to attempt to get a qualifying mark for nationals and there are some who are going to Texas to compete at NCAA II Nationals later in May. Our goal is to compete with everything we have. While we reach for this goal, we will give all of the glory and honor to Christ.
Check out the results on our page for G-MAC this weekend!
I’m grateful to be a blogger for the Women’s Track & Field team!
Have a great summer and God bless you all!

It was a chilly and windy day last Saturday as we split up the team to Miami University and the University of Kentucky. There were a few wins and PR’s as the Miami meet was a small, laid-back meet and the other two meets were bigger and more competitive.Â
Even though we were split up and all of us experienced different weather and different competition days (the group who went to California competed on Thursday and Friday and had decent weather), we all competed with everything we had. We only have two meets left to compete in as a team and we are getting ready to compete at the G-MAC Championship in almost a week. We’re at the final stretch of our season and we’re going to finish it well!
We are separating into three groups again this coming weekend! We are competing at the Jesse Owens Classic at Ohio State University on April 26-27th, the Hillsdale Relays at Hillsdale College on April 26th and the Denison Invitational at Denison University on April 26th.
As always, results will be posted on our website!

The Centre Twilight meet was eventful! We won out of 10 teams and there were many event winners and Top 8 finishers! The event winners who won were awarded with a t-shirt for their win!
Â
The team split up into two groups as the field events started at noon while the running events started at 5 p.m. The meet was held at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky, three hours away from Cedarville. The first small group was one of the first ones to arrive at the meet. While they were waiting for the meet to start, they decided to create a 90’s rap album cover. Thus, CU Trash and Field was born.
CU Trash and Field
After the meet, we finished the night with pasta and a beautiful sunset heading back to the ‘Ville. We are competing over Easter break as the team is splitting up to go to three different meets. The meets are the Azusa Pacific Invitational at Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, California on April 18-19th, the Miami Redhawk Invitational at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and the University of Kentucky Invitational in Lexington, Kentucky on April 20th. The results will be posted on our website!
Have a good Easter everyone! He is risen!

What a beautiful day for a race. Sunny skies, the occasional bird chirp, and a freshly surfaced track. Never mind the bumpy javelin runway or the lack of sunscreen - there will be more chances for better throws and this sunburn will fade into a tan.Â
This past weekend was a completely opposite experience compared to our home meet, with sunshine instead of showers and new personal records for several. Those of us at the Tiffelberg Open, as well as those who raced in Cincinnati, had another day for reaching new marks and achieving our set goals.Â
Regardless of how fast we ran, how high we vaulted, or how far we jumped, we have good weather, good health, good friends, and a well-timed Chipotle run to thank God for.Â
Through the finish.

We kicked off our first meet of the outdoor season this past Saturday at home! The weather wasn’t agreeing with us as we experienced rain and wind throughout the day. This didn’t deter us from competing to the best of our abilities.
For starting out the outdoor season in bad weather, we did a good job as a team and pursuing our goals in our events. We ran, threw and jumped with all of our effort despite the weather and competing outdoors for the first time this season. This meet marks the beginning of our outdoor season as we continue to shine and compete for Christ as we travel to different meets throughout the season. We can’t wait for the rest of our meets this outdoor season!
On Saturday, we are traveling to Tiffin, Ohio as we head to Heidelberg University to compete in Tiffleberg Open! The meet will start at 10:00 a.m. Several members of the women’s team will be at the University of Cincinnati Invitational which also begins at 10:00 a.m. The results will be posted on our page so you follow each event.
Have an awesome week!

The outdoor season is starting to get closer everyday! This past week, we had the chance to get some workouts done outside in nice weather.Â
The warm weather is exciting to us as we transition from running on the indoor track to running on the outdoor track. There’s some events that will be different from the indoor events. Examples of these events are 60 meters to 100 meters, 3000 meter steeplechase, 400 meter hurdles, 60 meter to 100 meter/110 meter hurdles, mile to 1500 meters, javelin, and so much more. Also, we get to run less laps as the track size goes from 200 meters to 400 meters. The majority of us are starting to adjust to the changes and preparing ourselves for the 2019 outdoor season!
Reminder: First meet is on Saturday, March 30th here at the Cedarville Track & Field Complex! The meet will start at 10:30 a.m. and it will last throughout the day. Live results will be posted online!

There were several girls who went out to Pittsburg, Kansas to compete at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships on March 8-9th. The Distance Medley Relay (DMR) team got eighth overall as the team consisted of Sarah Hoffman, Olivia Hoffman, Rachel Sweeney and Kayla Casaletto with a time of 11:45.37. Carsyn Koch-Johnson placed seventh in the 800 meters with a time of 2:09.81. All of these girls received All-American status as they were rewarded for their runs. These girls worked so hard throughout this indoor season and all of us are proud of what they accomplished this past weekend. Their accomplishments encourages all of us to prepare and get ready for this upcoming outdoor season. The women’s team is starting to train and get ready for this outdoor season!
We have a little while before our first outdoor meet of the season. It’s going to be on Saturday, March 30th right here at Cedarville. The meet will start at 10:30 a.m. and it’s going to last throughout the rest of the morning and afternoon. Keep a lookout for any updates for this upcoming meet!

We had a good weekend of competition! The G-MAC has gotten more competitive in the past few years, but we make sure to do our best in our events! We managed to place fifth this past weekend as several girls and the relays managed to place in the Top 3.
This indoor season has gone by so quick as we are about to transition into the outdoor season. It was so much fun to compete and get better at every meet. Just going through our workouts during the week, traveling to a different school on the weekend and then competing in a race that we trained for was awesome! All of us have different reasons why we compete in our events and how each of us got to where we are now in them. But one thing that all of us have in common is that Christ brought all of us together as a team. We look to Him every time we do a workout or we compete in our events. Christ gave us the ability to be athletes and we are going to continue to glorify Him through it.
Even though the team is done competing for now doesn’t mean all of us are! There are several girls who qualified for the NCAA II National Meet. Keep a lookout for more updates about that! There’s more to come! Thank you for checking in with us for indoor! We’re going to get ready for outdoor season!

The women’s track & field team had an AMAZING weekend! We won our second-consecutive NCCAA Indoor Championship and we had great PR’s and several school & field house records broken! We competed to the best of our ability and the results prove it.
The meet was two days long as some of us competed on Friday, Saturday or both days. Going into those two days, all of us knew we had another chance to win the championship again. So, we set our standards and ran, jumped or threw towards that standard. But, the most important standard that we have is to compete for Jesus. Our win isn’t for our glory, it’s for Christ’s glory.
Throughout the season, Coach Bo quotes the verse I Corinthians 10:31 to us often. It states: "So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." This championship win is for God’s glory, not our own.
We have one more indoor meet left as a team! It’s our G-MAC Championship and it’s on Friday and Saturday, February 22nd-23rd. It’s at the University of Findlay and here are the times: Friday at 10 a.m. and Saturday at 10:15 a.m. Check out our web page for live results!

We had a busy weekend as we split up to go to two meets! The first group left on Thursday to compete in Grand Valley State Big Meet on Friday and the second group left on Friday to compete in the Grand Valley Open Meet on Saturday (both meets were in Michigan.). Whenever the second group came up on Friday, they met up with the first group at a church, where all of us stayed for the night. The pastor of the church was a former Yellow Jacket as a thrower for the track & field team. All of us on the team are very thankful that the pastor and the church gave us a place to stay and served all of us dinner and breakfast.
Both groups had great days on Friday and Saturday as many of us had awesome performances and PR’s. The team’s performance as a whole keeps getting better and better throughout this season. We’re going to continue to keep getting better and we want to do show that Christ receives all the honor and glory. It’s only Jesus that matters the most of all.
Our next meet (NCCAA National Championships) will be here at Cedarville again! It’s a two-day meet, so if you miss one of the days, you can always go to the next one! It’s on February 15th-16th are the dates and times follow: Friday at 3 p.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Doden Field House! If you can’t make it to both of the meets, the live results will be posted on the Yellow Jackets web page!

Our home meet was a success! We won as a team and we had an awesome meet this past Friday. After the meet, we had to help out with the high track meet that was held on Saturday. Most of us started working around 9-9:30 a.m. and the meet was finally over at 9:30 p.m. The whole team had to work in shifts as half of the team worked the first shift and the other half worked the second shift. After the meet, the first shift team had to come back and help clean up.
The team had two long days of meets, but we see this as a great opportunity to show others schools (college and high school) what Cedarville University is all about as we stand for the Word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.Â
Our next meet is a two-day meet as we travel to Michigan to compete at Grand Valley State University on Friday at 10 a.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m. Live results will be posted!

So far, the Capital University meet was one of the longest meets we had this season (so far).
Two groups drove separately this past Saturday to go to Columbus to compete at different times. The first group left at 6:30 a.m. for the field events that started at 9:30 a.m. and everyone else left a little bit after 10 a.m. to catch the rest of the events that started between 12-1 p.m. By the time the 4 x 400 meter relay was over, it was almost 10:30 p.m. All of us managed to get home through the snow by midnight. Overall, this meet was very long and tiring for all of us.
Besides the long meet, we had a good time as all of us got closer and shared memories as we won as a team at this meet. All of us went in with our heads held high and competed throughout the long day. Even though the meet went behind schedule and several races had mistakes in them, we moved forward to the next event, focusing on what we need to do. By the time the 4 x 400 meter relay came around, the whole team was around different parts of the track, cheering on the two teams that competed to the best of their ability (despite it being 10 o’clock at night). After the race on the women’s side, our 4 x 400 meter relay girls had the other teams of the 4 x 400 meter relay that they competed against gather around to pray. That’s the most important thing: praying with the people that you competed with. This shows that no matter what team we are on, we are all together in Christ.
The next meet is right here at Cedarville! It’s on Friday, February 1st at 3:30 p.m. in the Doden Field House. The students can enter in for free with their student I.Ds! If you can’t make it, live results will be updated on the Yellow Jackets web page!

This past weekend got off to a great start for the women’s track & field team!
The team placed fourth overall out of eleven teams at the Otterbein Invitational. This is an awesome start to the season as many of us hit our goals that we aimed for or did better than we thought we would.
Madeline Barnes met an NCAA provisional mark in the pole vault as she won her event. Also, there were several other girls who won their events: Alayna Ackley in the mile, Olivia Hoffman in the 400 meters, Carsyn Johnson in the 800 meters and Kayla Casaletto in the 3,000 meters (3K). Also, there were a big group of the ladies who placed in the top eight in their events as well.
This meet was a great kick-start to the season. The good news is that we have five more indoor meets to go! We can continue to make more goals or strive for the ones that we have set!
The next meet is Saturday, January 26th at Capital University in Columbus starting at 9:30 a.m. The live results will be posted!

Hello everyone! My name is Hanah Johnson and I’m going to be the women’s track & field blogger for this year! I’m so excited to update to you all about how our indoor and outdoor seasons is going to be like as we run for the honor and glory of Jesus Christ.
Let me introduce myself and the team a little bit more. I’m going into my third season with the women’s track team. I generally do sprints, mainly running the 400 meters and 200 meters. Also, I’m finishing up my junior year at Cedarville and I’m a history major.
For the team, there are 42 girls competing this year on our team. There are 22 returners, 16 freshmen and 4 transfers. It’s a combination of track (sprinters, jumpers, throwers, etc.) and cross country runners, so we are a pretty big group. The track team already had their first indoor track meet earlier in December at Tiffin University. Now, everyone is all together and preparing for the rest of the season!
So far, we had over a week of practice in and everyone looks good as they are getting ready for the season! We start the season off by going to our second meet this weekend as we compete at the Otterbien Dave Lehman Invitational on Saturday, January 19th at 11a.m. The live results will be up on the Yellow Jacket web page!
Keep up with us as we compete throughout the semester, and visit back here for weekly updates!
