Hi everyone!
It’s P again, and I am here to give you the last and final blog of the season. This past week we finished out our season. Our last game was against Kentucky Wesleyan, who was the second-place team in the G-MAC. While we came up short, I am so incredibly proud of this team and how we fought that game, but more importantly all season. I am so proud of how we stuck together, even when times were so hard. Since this is the last blog I wanted to include what the senior’s have said what this program means to them:
Free, Kenny and P!
Makenna Fee #13 (Kenny) - “This program is built of amazing young women who have become my closest friends. Their friendships mean the world to me and I’m so thankful for the CU women’s basketball program for bringing all the girls into my life!”
Abby Freeman #12 (Free) - “I am so thankful for the last four years. CUWBB has meant so much to me and I have met some of the greatest people. It’s been such a blessing to be a part of a program with a culture centered around the Lord! “
Paige Garr #4 (P) - “This program has meant so much to me. There were incredibly hard days, but because of the amazing girls that are on this team, we were able to stay strong and get through anything that came our way together. What is most important to me is I will be a better Christian and person because of this program. There is so much I could say, but to sum it up I am just so very thankful, and know these girls will be my best friends for the rest of my life.”
Thank you so much for all of the support that everyone gave us this year. It was definitely a challenging year, but I want to just pray for the girls that will be on the team next year, and especially praying for them within these next few weeks, and that they will be able to get this team back to the high level of winning, which I know without a doubt they can do!
Thanks everyone!

Hi everyone!
Anne Wheeler
I am junior Anne Wheeler and I'm so excited to be writing the blog this week!
This past week we had two games and unfortunately, neither one went our way. We lost to #1 Ashland this past Thursday, and even though we lost there were a lot of good things and areas of growth that we saw from everyone on our team which was encouraging. Our game Saturday against Findlay was pretty disappointing because we lost by 1. However, this upcoming week we hope to end the season with two big wins!
Speaking of this week, we play at Walsh on Thursday and then this Saturday is our final home game of the season and also Senior Day! We are looking forward to being able to celebrate our three seniors, Paige Garr, Makenna Fee, and Abby Freeman. They have each brought so much to this team and program both on and off the floor. I have been so blessed being able to have them as leaders and captains in my time here and they have all had such a positive impact on our team in some really awesome ways. We are so excited for them as they move on to the next chapter, but first, we want to celebrate them and make sure they know how loved and appreciated they are by our team and fans!!
We hope you are able to come out to our game against Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 2 PM to celebrate them as they play their last home game here at Cedarville!
As always, thank you for reading and for your support of our team!
Go Jackets!

Hi everyone!
Welcome back to another blog. This past week we had two games against Ursuline and Malone. We beat Ursuline and unfortunately came up short against Malone. No matter the result, I am so proud of this team for going out there each game and competing in the best way we can. We have had another year of unfortunate injuries and I am proud of all the girls that have stepped up and were ready when their name was called.
Looking ahead to this week we play Ashland at home on Thursday (5:30 PM) and travel to Findlay on Saturday. Ashland is the #1 team in the country so it will be a big challenge for us, but we are ready to take on the challenge. I want to ask everyone to come out and support us in our last two home games this Thursday and next Saturday, Feb. 25. We have really appreciated the support this season and ask for continued prayers for our team with injuries.
With it being Valentine's Day I just wanted to express how much I love this team. When things get hard, at the end of the day we all still have each other and are always uplifting one another. We couldn't do this without the support of one another.
Well that's all I have for this week!

Hi everyone!
Welcome back to another weekly blog. Last week we played two games against Northwood and Tiffin. While the results weren’t what we wanted it was another opportunity for us to get better. We appreciated everyone that came out to support us in our Play-4-Kay Pink Game on Thursday!
Our team has been struggling with a few injuries lately, so I just ask for prayer requests for our team and for the individuals on our team that are going through the injuries.
This week we have a little bit different of a schedule. We play at home on Tuesday vs. Ursuline (5:30 PM) and then at Malone on Saturday (3 PM). As the season is coming up on the end we just want to go out there each game and look for ways that we can improve.
We appreciate all the support everyone has given our team so far this season and hope everyone can come out and support us in our last few games!

Makenna Fee
Hey everyone!
I'm Makenna Fee, and I'm thrilled to write the blog of the week!
Here are some updates from last week. We fell short against two great teams, Hillsdale and Malone, but we were able to learn a lot from those games, and we saw a lot of improvement from the beginning of the year!
The most exciting news from last week is that senior Paige Garr scored her 1,000th career point Thursday night against Hillsdale! She has put in so much work for this team, and we are so proud of her! So, if you see Paige around, make sure to congratulate her!
We are preparing to play the newest addition to our conference, Northwood, on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at home! Then we travel to Tiffin to play Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
We hope to see you all there! Thanks for your support!
Blessings,

Hi everyone!
I’m back with another blog for this week. Last week we had two games against Walsh and Lake Erie. We ended up losing the game to Walsh but got the win on Saturday against Lake Erie. We were glad to get that win as Lake Erie had beaten us earlier in the season. It was a full team effort by everyone! I wanted to give Lydia a special shout-out with 20 points!
Looking ahead for this week we have two big games. We play at Hillsdale on Thursday and against Malone at home on Saturday (2 PM). We are looking forward to two good games.
That’s all that I really have for this week, but I did want to say GO BENGALS (sorry Lyd and Free).

Hi everyone!
Welcome back to another weekly blog. This past week we only had one game and it was at Ohio Dominican. We ended up pulling out the win 74-70. I wanted to give a shout out to Makenna who hit a huge basket to help us pull out the win while also having a career-high four blocks! Overall it was a complete team effort and we are glad to be back on the winning track!
This week we have two big home games against Walsh (Thursday / 5:30 PM) and Lake Erie (Saturday / 2 PM). Both teams are close to us in the standings in the conference and two wins would be huge for us! We would love to get a big crowd there on both days and really bring the energy.
Off the court a lot of us have enjoyed watching the NFL playoff games and this next week there may be some tensions as a few of us are Bengals fans and a few are Bills fans so it will be a fun way to finish off this exciting week! (GO BENGALS!)
That is all from me for now and as always we appreciate the support from everyone!

Hey guys! I'm
Makenna Fee
Makenna Fee, senior on the women’s basketball team, and I’m so happy to be writing the blog this week!
Our team has been very busy lately. We played two great teams this past week, #1 Ashland and Findlay! Both games were hard fought by our team and coaching staff. We are excited to start the new year on a good note! We ended our winter break by going to a team retreat with Athletes in Action. We worked on team building and really focused on becoming closer!
We are preparing this week to play at Ohio Dominican on Thursday at 5:30 PM. We would love to see you all there to support!
I want to give a big thank you to our dedicated fans, amazing staff at Cedarville, and all the workers at Athletes in Action for loving and supporting our team!
We do ask for prayers for Taylor Strock as she starts her recovery from foot surgery!
Blessings,

Hi everyone!
It has been a little bit since I’ve updated you on the blog, so there is a lot to catch up on!
We all got a week off for Christmas to spend some much needed time with friends and family. It was nice to get rest and feel refreshed coming back for basketball.
When we got back we had two practices before our exhibition against University of Dayton on the 29th. While we did lose to UD it was an awesome experience to play against an NCAA Division I program like Dayton at Dayton Arena with more than 2,000 fans there. It was an experience I won’t forget!
We had to regroup quickly as after our game against Dayton we had to play a very good Saginaw Valley team on Saturday. After trailing for most of the game, we ended up pulling out the win, which was much needed not only for our record but also for our confidence. We know that we can win and to see it happen after a few games was really nice.
We have two big G-MAC games this week. On Thursday, Jan. 5 we play at Ashland who is the #1 team in the country, and then follow up with a home game against a good Findlay team on Saturday, Jan. 7 at 2 PM.
We are excited to see what this new year can bring for our season!

Hi everyone!
Thanks for coming back to read another weekly blog. This past week we had two games - against Ohio Dominican and UW Parkside. Unfortunately both of the games ended in a loss. While our season has not gone the way that we have planned it, we know we are right there and so close to being able to change this season around as our past few games have been losses that have been under five points.
For the next week we will get to go home and get some much needed rest. It will be so nice to be home for Christmas, and I know I am especially looking forward to spending time with my family and eating some nice home cooked meals.
Looking ahead, we will be back to campus December 27th and then we will have our exhibition against Dayton the 29th. That is going to be a super cool experience, and I am really looking forward to it as I have not played a NCAA Division I team yet in my four years here.
We want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and we look forward to the next half of our season, and are going to do everything we can to produce better results.
Thanks for tuning in and Happy Holidays!

Hi everyone!
It’s P here. I want to thank my fellow seniors Free and Kenny for doing the blog the last two weeks. This past week/weekend we traveled to Nashville, TN and Owensboro, KY to play Trevecca and Kentucky Wesleyan. On Thursday we played Trevecca and unfortunately came up short. It was a game that we were disappointed in because we knew we could perform better than what we did on the court. A quick shout out to Anne for having a career-high 21 points.
We didn’t have much time to focus on that loss as we had a good Kentucky Wesleyan team to prepare for on Saturday. It was a very good game and we ultimately came up short on a last second layup by Kentucky Wesleyan to win the game. Another shout out to Lydia for an amazing performance of 33 points.
Although we lost to Kentucky Wesleyan we were very proud of our performance against a very good team. While our record may not be where we want it to be right now, that game gave us a lot of confidence and determination as we know we can stick with anyone in our conference.
This week is finals week and I know all of us would appreciate the prayers as we prepare to take our finals with also having two games being this Thursday at home against Ohio Dominican (5:30 PM) and the following Monday at home against Wisconsin Parkside (1:00 PM).
We thank you all for the support, and are looking forward to you watching us turn our season around.

Hey everyone!
Makenna Fee
I’m Makenna Fee #13 and I’m excited to write our BLOG this week! Here are some updates from last week.
The Lady Jackets won our first G-MAC game at home against Hillsdale College! It was a great team win and we were excited to start the conference season off strong! Lydia Sweeney and I both had 18 points, Anne Wheeler had 17 points, and Taylor Strock dominated the boards with 12 rebounds! Our team has been working hard to find ways to win games and it was amazing to see it all come together last week!
This week we are back in the gym working on ways to get better as a team. We will be traveling to Nashville, TN to play Trevecca Nazarene on Thursday, December 8th, then play at Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday, December 10. I can’t wait to compete with my team this weekend!
Thank you so much for supporting the Lady Jacket basketball program! Tune in this week to watch us play on the road, and we hope to see you all at our next home on December 15th against Ohio Dominican!
Blessings,

Abby Freeman
Hey Yellow Jacket fans!
Abby Freeman #12 here! P gave me the privilege to take over the blog this week so I wanted to fill y’all in on what we’ve been up to.
First of all, we hope y’all had a great Thanksgiving! I’m so thankful for all the blessings the Lord has given me this year including my team and this program. We were all able to have a much needed Thanksgiving break after our Missouri trip. Speaking of the trip, it was such a good time with the team. We had a lot of fun and ate a lot of good food.
On Tuesday, November 22 we played against #10 Drury and then a solid Truman State squad on Wednesday afternoon. Although we fell short both games, we took away a lot of positives from last week and are excited for our upcoming conference games. Shout out to Lydia Sweeney for leading the way against Drury and Truman State with 22 and 15 points respectively. Paige Garr chipped in 17 and 10 points.
Well that’s about all I have! We hope to see y’all at our home G-MAC opener on Thursday, December 1 against Hillsdale at 5:30 p.m. Then tune in on Saturday as we travel to Lake Erie in Painesville, Ohio!
Thank you all for your support! And Go Jackets!

Hi everyone!
Welcome back to this week’s blog. Since the blog last week we got our first win which we are super pumped about. We beat Central State 84-81. It turned out to be a really fun and entertaining game, and a little too close for our liking haha. Lydia Sweeney led the way with 20 points and Abby Freeman, Kat Weakley, and Taylor Strock also led the double-digit scoring with 12 points, 11 points, and 11 points respectively. Overall, it was a complete team effort to pull out the close win.
We traveled to Springfield, Missouri on Sunday to play in a tournament before Thanksgiving. We made it here safely after a (long) 11-hour drive. We’ve had a fun trip so far with trips to
Culver’s and
Top Golf. Quick shout out to Leah Butterbaugh for being a dawg at golf.
With it being Thanksgiving I asked everyone to tell me what their favorite Thanksgiving dishes are:
Kat: Mac and Cheese
Anne: Stuffing
Free: Green Bean Casserole
Ava: Sweet Potato Casserole
Lyd: Mashed Potatoes and Gravy
Strock: Noodles
Lily: Baked Beans
Kenny: Mac and Cheese
Leah: Rolls
Stacy: Sweet Potato Pie
Choppa: Stuffing
Evan: Sweet Potato Casserole
Paige (myself): Noodles and Mashed Potatoes
Coach Smith: Sweet Potato Puff
Coach Lys: Mac and Cheese dipped in Mashed Potatoes
We have two big games this week. Tuesday we play Drury who is the 10th-ranked team in the country and then the next day we play Truman State who is another good GLVC team. After our last game we will pack up and head back home to hopefully get back to campus Thanksgiving morning to make it home for Thanksgiving dinner.
We are thankful for everyone who has supported our team so far and would appreciate prayers for our trip and getting home safely. We appreciate you all so much!

Hey everyone!
Thanks for checking in for this week’s blog. I wanted to give a little recap since the last blog. We had our home opener on Saturday against Ferris State. Unfortunately we did not get the results that we wanted and ended up losing 76-66. We did not have a great first half shooting wise and lost the second quarter 14-7 which ultimately played a big factor in the game as we played them even pretty much every other quarter. Although we lost, I did want to give a shout-out to a few people:
Makenna and Anne made their debuts after tearing their ACL’s early last season and we are so proud of all the hard work they have put in to come back!
Kat Weakley made her Cedarville debut with 12 points
Taylor Stacy had a career high of 11 points
We definitely felt as if that was a game we could have won and are ready to get back to practice to prepare for our game on Wednesday against Central State at home at 5:30 PM. We would love for you guys to come out and support so that we can give a better result!
Looking ahead we will be traveling to Missouri on Sunday to play in a tournament before Thanksgiving.
We hope to see you Wednesday!

Hey everyone!
I’m Paige Garr (my teammates call me P), and I am a senior on the women’s basketball team and am excited to be the blog writer for the 2022-23 season! I really can’t believe that the season is already here. To kick off the blog series I thought that I would introduce you to our freshmen/transfers. We are so excited to have them join us and really look forward to seeing the ways in which they’ll grow not only this year, but all four years that they are here. I asked them a few questions to help you get to know them and here were their answers:
Kat Weakley (sophomore transfer):
1. Hometown/High School: Columbus, Ohio / Worthington Christian High School
2. Favorite meal on campus: Chick-fil-A
3. Why you chose Cedarville/CUWBB: “I chose Cedarville because it was close to home and had a good Christian community where I could grow as a person off the court and grow in my relationship with God.”
Leah Butterbaugh (sophomore transfer):
1. Hometown/High School: Waynesville, Ohio / Waynesville High School
2. Favorite meal on campus: Stingers grilled chicken sandwich
3. Why you chose Cedarville/CUWBB: “I chose Cedarville because it is close to my hometown. I fell in love with the team and the people on campus. No other college can
match how Cedarville can connect you with Christ.”
Evan Neely (Freshman)
1. Hometown/High School: Vandalia, Ohio / Vandalia Butler High School
2. Favorite meal on campus: Grilled chicken nuggets at Chick-fil-A
3. Why you chose Cedarville/CUWBB: “The Christian atmosphere. My main focus on choosing a college was making sure I’d be growing my faith as a believer while I was at
college. I chose to play basketball here because of the team and the way you could tell how they all supported each other on and off the floor and make each other better as a
player and believer. I wanted to be a part of something special like that.”
Ava Boike (Freshman)
1. Hometown/High School: Flint, MI / Genesee Christian School
2. Favorite meal on campus: Chucks waffles
3. Why you chose Cedarville/CUWBB: “I chose Cedarville because it has a Christian atmosphere which is something that I was really looking for.”
Lily Moore (Freshman)
1. Hometown/High School: Corydon, IN / Christian Educational Consortium
2. Favorite meal on campus: Chick-fil-A
3. Why you chose Cedarville/CUWBB: “Because of the Christian community/atmosphere, the campus/campus life, and because of how welcoming everyone was.”
We kick off the season this Saturday at home at 6:30 p.m. against Ferris State. It will be a great game and we would love to see all of you guys there! We play after the men’s team so make sure to come out and support them as well. We are excited to be back playing in front of our fans and hope that we can give you guys a fun and entertaining year! See you Saturday in Callan!
