Hey Yellow Jacket Nation,
Caleb Stimmel
We just wrapped up our fall golf season after our trip to Palm Coast, Florida. We played in the NCCAA Championship at the Hammock Beach Conservatory course. We flew down on Friday, October 21 to Orlando where we all enjoyed an amazing stack from
Moe’s Southwest Grill. We got to the resort late that night and all got settled in.
We then spent Saturday practicing for a little at the course in the morning and then had the rest of the day to hang out and enjoy the wide variety of pools they have at the resort. On Sunday we got to finally see and play the Conservatory course in the practice round. We took all sorts of notes and got mentally prepared to play the challenging course over the next three days.
The first day we shot 306 and found ourselves in a tie for second place and just four shots out of first. Caden and I shot 75 and 73 respectively. The second day was similar with the team shooting 304 and Caden with 73 and me a 74. We then found ourselves 12 shots back heading into the last day. The last day did not go how we wanted it to. Caden had a good day and shot 73 and found himself in fifth place overall. I struggled by starting off really bad and not really ever getting it back until the last few holes. Luckily I birdied the last hole so that the team could take solo second and remain in the Top 10 individually. Caden and I ended as All-Americans and was a good end to the fall season. We had to rush out to make our flight back to Ohio and really just narrowly made our flight on time.
We really enjoyed our time in Florida as we spent a lot of time relaxing and growing closer together as a team. The golf course was amazing and the weather was perfect. Although we came up short again this year taking another second place. We are thankful to God for his protection over us this season and the great times we had together as a team. We know that we all have a lot left in us this spring and look to grow our game over this winter break. The Jackets will open up the season at Barton’s tournament in the spring.
In the meantime we will be working on our game indoors this winter and look to improve on this fall season and look to make some moves in March and April.
Thanks for the support this season,
Caleb Stimmel

Hello Yellow Jacket Nation! (Let’s ride)
My name is Caleb Stimmel and I am a senior IT management major on the men’s golf team. I have been asked to sub in for the BLOG this week and I cannot wait to share all about our week up at the Tiffin Memorial. So let us not delay!
Actually…I would like to offer a little delay, but a good one! On Saturday we walked in the Cedarville Homecoming parade. We tossed out candy and hit blue and yellow foam golf balls into the crowd and had a blast interacting with and seeing everyone who came out to support. We just so happened to be walking behind a former player and now current Hall of Famer, Scott Aker! It was great seeing Scott and his family and hear all about his time at CU.
The next day we headed up to Tiffin to play at Mohawk Golf and Country Club in the practice round. We had three of our Top 5 playing it for the very first time! As well as our two freshmen joining the Top 5 for the first time, Sam Evans and Daniel Bailey. However, this was no inhibitor for Sam as he tied the school record in his first ever round in the Top 5! Sam fired a 67 (-5) in the first round of the 36 hole day. This led the team to a first place lead by eight shots through the first round. Unfortunately, the Jackets did not keep up this stellar play and fell back to sixth place after the day was over. We knew that we would be able to play much better the second day, so we ended up getting some pizza and going to bed.
On day two I started out by tripling my second hole, but then decided right then and there that I was not going to make a bogey the rest of the day so I just casually played the next 16 holes with four birdies and no bogeys. Sam Evans also had a comeback himself. At one point he was six over par through his first nine holes. He also decided to turn on the jets and played his next nine holes five under par to end up shooting 73! It is worth noting that sophomore Caden Scarbrough decided to play a smoother round of golf by never being over par the entire day en route to a two under par round of 70. Sam and Caden ended up leading the Jackets by being one and two over respectively for the entire tournament.
The resilience in the Jackets show that we never back down! We ended up moving back up one spot on the leader board to fifth place. We really feel like we are trending in the right direction and hope to finally be able to put it together for all three rounds and do something special in our upcoming home tournament at Country Club of the North in Xenia next week.
Look for the Jackets to take it deep next week at home and we would love to see Yellow Jacket Nation come out and support! So come on down to Country Club of the North any time on Monday and Tuesday to see some of Cedarville’s finest scrape some dew and rip some turf to defend home soil.
Be sure to look out for the BLOG to return to its regularly scheduled blogging from Isaak Ramsey next week. In the meantime, it was a pleasure giving you all a bit of an inside scoop to our week!

Hello Yellow Jacket Fans!
Cedarville and Wilberforce
Welcome back to the blog! This past week we traveled to Findlay to play in the University of Findlay Fall Invitational. Before we got to the tournament, we took the week to prepare for the event. Wednesday following the Malone Invitational, we layed low and rested. Thursday, we lifted in the morning and practiced in the afternoon. Following practice, we met to discuss the game plan and map out the Findlay Country Club. Friday most guys practiced on their own and got school work done. Saturday was the highlight of the week. We got the opportunity to travel to Miami Valley Golf Club and play with Wilberforce University. They were gracious enough to invite us out and we had an absolute blast spending the afternoon together and playing some golf!
Following the round, we headed to Marion’s for some pizza. Sunday morning Coach, Will, Caden, Caleb, Dylan, and I packed up and made the trek to Findlay. Like any other week, we played our practice round, went to
Culver’s, and went to bed. Monday and Tuesday were great weather days, and while we did not get off to a great start on Monday, we bounced back over the next 36 holes and broke the school record by 3! You can find the results here!
Once we were back from Findlay, we made the quick turnaround for our 6 a.m. lift on Wednesday. That afternoon we had the opportunity to film for the university on our range and practice as a team. Since Wednesday we have been qualifying for the next tournament, practicing, and lifting to get ready for Tiffin next week. Thank you again for all your support!

Hello, Yellow Jacket fans!!
My name is Isaak Ramsey, and I am a fifth-year grad student on the golf team. I have the honor of writing the blog this year and I am so excited for the opportunity to share our year.
We began this year with qualifying beginning at the start of September. Qualifying set the lineup for our first tournament. For those unfamiliar, collegiate golf requires a team of five, and in each round, the team takes the lowest four scores and totals them. For Malone, we had Caden Scarborough, Dylan Ledford, Caleb Stimmel, Cody Cogdill, and me. During our short pre- season, we began morning lifts twice a week, coffee with Coach, Bible study, and on campus practice.
Our tournaments are normally 54 holes divided up into 36-18 with a practice round the day before. This week we were treated to a great home-cooked dinner by none other than the Scarboroughs! They fed us incredibly well and were kind enough to let us get some practice swings in on Wii Golf. After dinner, we returned to the hotel and rested for the next long day.
The weather was great on both days, with minimal rain and great temperatures. The tournament’s first day was long, and the course was very wet. Coach’s daughter, Macy, made the trip with us to assist in driving the second van and help get drinks and snacks out to us. Her dropping off fuel along the way made the long days much easier!
For this tournament, we were lucky enough to take all the guys and play those who were not in the Top 5 as individuals. The highlight of the week was Will Evans shooting a school-record tying 5-under 67 to kick the tournament off! His brother, Ben Evans, played with Will the first day and was quoted as saying “He should have shot 62”. The low man of the week was sophomore Caden Scarborough who shot a smooth +1 for the week. The team finished seventh out of 15 teams with a score of +21. Overall, this was a solid showing to start the season.
We have a lot of room for improvement and the team is hungry. Thank you for reading this week’s blog and for all your support! The scores from this week are below.
Caden Scarborough: 72-74-71=217 +1
Isaak Ramsey: 73-74-74= 221 +5
Caleb Stimmel: 78-70-74= 222 +6
Dylan Ledford: 78-75-72= 225 +9
Will Evans (I): 67-78-81= 226 +10
Daniel Bailey (I): 78-80-78 +20
Cody Cogdill: 81-76-89 +30
Ben Evans (I): 84-76-W
Sam Evans (I): 82
