Ethan Gatchell returns for his fourth season with the Yellow Jackets.....saw action in five varsity meets as a junior.....best 8K of the season was 26:34 to place 25th at the G-MAC Championship.....finished 20th in the NCCAA Championship in 26:59 for national runner-up squad.....outstanding season on the track.....NCCAA Indoor 800 meter champion with PR of 1:55.45.....NCCAA Indoor All-American in the 800 and 4 x 400.....G-MAC Indoor 800 champion in 1:55.61.....USTFCCCA Division II Outdoor All-Region Team in the 800.....G-MAC Outdoor 800 runner-up in career-best 1:51.98 which rates eighth all-time at CU.....G-MAC Indoor First Team and Outdoor Second Team selection.....NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.....G-MAC Academic Team.

2016 - Competed in six varsity meets as a sophomore.....team’s top finisher at Wilmington in a career-best 8K of 26:25.....clocked in 33:25 for the 10K in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional.....placed 26th at the NCCAA Championship in 27:02.....NCAA Division II Indoor All-American on the track in the distance medley relay.....member of foursome that placed 8th in a school-record 9:53.72.....USTFCCCA Division II Indoor All-American (DMR).....G-MAC Indoor Second Team after finishing as runner-up in the 800 meters (1:55.30) and placed third in the mile (4:19.86).....established outdoor PR’s in the 800 (1:53.81) and 1,500 (4:01.24) at the Azusa Pacific Bryan Clay Invitational.....USTFCCCA Division II All-Academic.....G-MAC Academic Team.

2015 - Appeared in the first five cross country meets of 2015.....best 8K was 27:03 in the All-Ohio Championship.....turned in a 27:04 effort at the Lewis Cross-Over.....outstanding season on the track.....G-MAC Indoor First Team after winning the mile in a meet record time of 4:25.75.....NCCAA Outdoor Champion in the 4 x 800 meter relay in a school-record time of 7:35.94.....NCCAA Outdoor All-American.....G-MAC Freshmen Team both indoors and outdoors.

High School - Homeschool graduate, who ran for Red Lion High School.....four-year letter winner in both cross country and track & field.....personal best cross country 5K of 16:42.....member of two YAIAA championship teams.....two-time state qualifier on the track in the 4 x 800 placing 5th in 2013 and 7th in 2015.....graduated with the school record in the 800 meters (1:53.73).....won back-to-back county 800 titles.....best 1,600 was 4:26.....two-time All-YAIAA First Team.....part of two YAIAA title squads.

Personal - Dean’s List student as a computer engineering major at Cedarville University.....born 11/27/96 in Bedford, NH.....son of Matt and Christine Gatchell.....older brother, Caleb, was a four-year distance runner at Hillsdale College.....younger brother, Joel, is a junior distance runner at CU.....has two younger sisters and another younger brother.
