CAREER STATS

Joel Gatchell is in his third year with the Yellow Jackets’ distance running program.....competed in five meets as a sophomore.....best 8K was 30:40 at the Wilmington Classic.....ran the middle distance events during the track season.....established indoor PR in the 800 of 2:04.92 at Grand Valley State.....set outdoor career-bests in the 400 (52.21) at the Miami RedHawk Invitational and in the 800 (2:07.76) at the Cedarville Collegiate.

2016 - Did not run cross country as a rookie.....participated in the 400 and 800 meter events during the indoor campaign.....top effort in the 400 meters was a 53:69 at the Grand Valley State Big Meet.....placed seventh in the 800 at Findlay with a time of 2:07.21.....posted an outdoor season-best 53:46 in the 400 meters at Hanover.....competed in the 800 (2:12.39) and 1,500 (4:33.50) at the Yellow Jacket Outdoor Open.

High School - Homeschool graduate, who garnered experience at Red Lion High School.....earned two letters in four seasons on the track.....four-year cross country performer with three letters achieved.

Personal - Athletic training major at Cedarville University.....born 2/15/98 in Bedford, NH.....son of Matt and Christine Gatchell.....older brother, Caleb, was a four-year distance runner at Hillsdale College.....older brother, Ethan, is a senior distance runner with the Yellow Jackets.....has two younger sisters and a younger brother.
