Cedarville University Yellow Jackets

Joseph Cathey wraps up his fourth and final season with the Yellow Jackets.....appeared in six varsity meets and finished among CU’s top three in his last three outings.....placed 21st of 313 at the NAIA Great Lakes Invitational in a career-best 8K mark of 25:34.....All-American Mideast Conference Second Team performer finishing 9th in 25:39.....Jackets #2 runner at the NAIA Championship in 26:19 to cross the line 77th of 326.....distance runner on the track team.....AMC runner-up in the 5,000 meters.

2009 - Competed in all eight varsity meets during sophomore campaign.....All-AMC honorable mention placing 23rd overall in 27:19.....finished 45th of 255 runners at the NAIA Great Lakes Invitational with a season-best time of 26:45.....CU’s #4 finisher at the NAIA Nationals in 27:00 to place 161st of 323 competitors.....distance runner for the track & field squad.

2008 - Appeared in six varsity meets as a freshman.....best time in the 8K was 26:20 at the Cedarville Open which placed 12th overall.....finished 50th of 228 competitors at the Aquinas Invitational in 26:23.....CU’s #3 runner and placed 8th overall at the Friendship Invitational in 26:42.....competed in the distance events during the indoor and outdoor track & field seasons.

High School - Assembled an outstanding career at Calvary Christian High School.....four-year letter winner in track and cross country.....two-time All-Pinellas County performer in cross country.....invited to compete in the Foot Locker Nationals.....three-time region and state qualifier.....district champion and placed 14th in the state.....Class 2A state champion on the track in the 3,200 meters with a time of 9:26.....named Pinellas County Runner of the Year.....played one season of soccer.

Personal - Psychology major at Cedarville University.....born 1/22/90 in Clearwater, FL.....son of Thomas and Gail Cathey.....has an older sister and two older brothers.
