Cedarville University Yellow Jackets

Tyler Greenwood returns for his fourth season of distance running at Cedarville.....appeared in just two cross country meets and sat out the track campaign with an injury.....NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.....G-MAC Academic Team.

2014 - Competed in six cross country meets as a sophomore.....best 8K time was 26:59 in the All-Ohio Championship.....finished 16th in the G-MAC Championship in 27:12.....NCCAA Indoor All-American on the track in the distance medley relay with a runner-up finish.....G-MAC Indoor First Team with a win in the DMR.....G-MAC Academic Team.

2013 - Assembled a successful rookie campaign with the Yellow Jackets.....saw action in four varsity meets.....best 8K time was 26:45 to finish 35th of 231 competitors in the NCCAA Championship.....All-G-MAC Second Team honoree by placing 11th in 27:00.....NCCAA Indoor Track & Field All-American in the distance medley following a runner-up finish.....G-MAC runner-up in the 1,500 and 4 x 400 for all-conference second team recognition.

High School - Four-year letter winner in cross country at nearby Shawnee High School.....earned all-state honors as a junior by placing 20th overall and leading team to the 2011 Ohio Division II title.....school placed third in the state his senior year.....also guided SHS to two region, three district, two conference, and three county championships.....four-time All-Clark County First Team runner.....named to the All-Central Buckeye Conference First Team three times and to the Second Team once.....all-area first team recognition four years.....three-time all-district and twice selected all-region......on the track, all-state runner in the 1,600 and 4 x 800 as a junior and senior.....earned all-area, all-region, all-district, all-conference, and all-county recognition.....school, conference, and county record holder in the 4 x 800.....three-time county champion in the 800; 1,600; and 4 x 800.....twice named Clark County Athlete of the Year.....2012 Area Athlete of the Year.....played two seasons of basketball.....Wendy's High School Heisman state finalist.

Personal - Dean’s List student as a mechanical engineering major at Cedarville University.....born 11/2/94 in Springfield, OH.....son of Tom and Chris (Friesen) Greenwood.....mother was a Lady Jacket basketball and softball standout from 1985-89 and is in the CU Athletic Hall of Fame.....older sister, Erin, played volleyball at Cairn University.....younger brother, Jaden, is a sophomore basketball player at Greenville College.....also has younger sister, Jacey.
