Cedarville University Yellow Jackets

Derek Truninger is in his fourth season with the Yellow Jackets.....finished his junior year with a career-best 80.60 average stroke average per 18 holes.....turned in a career-low 74 in the first round of the NCAA Division II Fall Regional #1.....best 36-hole tournament efforts came at the NCCAA Midwest Regional (78-81-159) and NCAA Division II Fall Regional #1 (74-85-159).....finished 5th in the Davis & Elkins Shootout (79-81-160).....NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.....G-MAC Academic Team.

2013-14 - Played four rounds in two tournaments as a sophomore.....averaged 81.75.....shot his career-best 36-hole total in the Yellow Jacket Fall Invitational with 78-77-155 to tie for 14th place.....G-MAC Academic Team.

2012-13 - Averaged 83.25 in eight rounds covering four events as a freshman.....made his collegiate debut with 80-80-160 to place 28th at Georgetown.....tied for 20th in the 32nd Annual Cedarville Invitational with 79-82-161.

High School - Played four years of golf and earned three letters at Moon Area High School.....served as team captain.....averaged 38 strokes per 9 holes.....WPIAL section individual champion.....achieved two letters in four seasons of baseball.....team captain.....graduated with academic honors.

Personal - Dean’s List student as a graphic design major at Cedarville University.....born 5/31/94 in Pittsburgh, PA.....only child of Ken and Vicki Truninger.....father played collegiate baseball at Indiana (Pa.).
