Biography
Matt Krogstad returns for his final season as a Yellow Jacket golfer following an outstanding junior campaign.....ranked second on the team averaging 74.50 strokes per 18 holes which is the fourth-lowest single-season mark in school history.....76.94 career average rates fourth all-time.....All-American Mideast Conference selection after placing 6th with scores of 74-76-75 for a 225 total.....turned in a 77-75-71-223 at the Lindenwood Invitational for the fifth-best 54-hole total in CU golf history.....carded a career-best two-under par 70 in the second round of the Cedarville Invitational.....finished as the tournament runner-up at 80-70-150 with his opening round score the only time he failed to break 80 all season.....tied for 2nd at the Southeastern Kentucky Invitational with 74-71-145.....finished 4th in the Shawnee State Invitational at 71-75-146.....NAIA and NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.
2007-08 - Played in all ten tournaments as a sophomore and ranked third on the squad in scoring average at 78.34 strokes per 18 holes.....Huntington Invitational medalist at 71-76-147.....opening round 71 matched his career low.....Cedarville Invitational runner-up with scores of 75-75-150.....shot 79-72-151 to tie for 9th place at the NAIA Classic.
2006-07 - Saw action in eight tournaments and played 17 rounds as a freshman averaging 78.94.....Shawnee State Invitational runner-up with a one-under par 143 total which at the time was the fourth-lowest 36-hole score in school history.....carded rounds of 72-71 at SSU.....tied for 10th place in the Cedarville Invitational (77-77-154).....tied for 15th at the NAIA Region IX Championship with a 230 total (80-73-77).
High School - Four-year letter winner in golf at Abundant Life Christian High School.....four-time all-conference first team selection and four-time team MVP.....conference, regional, and sectional medalist as a senior.....Division III state runner-up and tied for 10th place overall among all divisions.....averaged 36.7 strokes per 9 holes in the post-season.....Capital Times Prep Golfer of the Year.....named to the All-City Second Team and earned the All-City Distinguished Senior Award.....member of three-time conference championship teams and two regional title squads.....team qualified for 2006 state tournament.....two-year letter winner in both soccer and football.....National Christian Honor Society student.
Personal - Dean’s List student as an accounting and finance major at Cedarville University.....born 5/7/88 in Madison, WI....son of Gary and Laura Krogstad.....has one younger sister.
