Jon Waldo, one of the most prolific scorers in Yellow Jacket soccer history, returns to his alma mater as part of the coaching staff.

Waldo was a key figure up front during his career from 2000 through 2003 in which he finished as Cedarville’s all-time leader in assists with 33 and matches started with 83. He rates second on the Jackets’ all-time list in points scored (147) and tied for second in goals scored (57).

Waldo dished out a single-season school-record 14 assists during his sophomore campaign in 2001. Coupled with his career-high 21 goals, he totaled 56 points which is the third-highest output in school history.

The Riverside, Ill. native was tabbed an NCCAA All-America Second Team selection as well as an national all-tournament choice. Waldo was a four-time All-NCCAA Midwest Region pick, a three-time All-American Mideast Conference honoree, was twice chosen to the All-NAIA Region IX Team, and was an OSCA All-Ohio Second Team member.

Waldo guided the Yellow Jackets to a 54-28-6 record in his career with a pair of third-place finishes at the NCCAA National Tournament. Cedarville was the 2001 and 2003 NCCAA Midwest Region champions.

Waldo was most recently the girls assistant coach at Franklin Monroe High School in Pitsburg, Ohio. He has also been involved with the On Goal Soccer Camp, the Yellow Jacket Soccer Camp, and SAY Soccer.

Waldo is a 2004 graduate of Cedarville University with a finance degree. Jon and his wife, Sara (Gruber), who is also a CU graduate, reside in Englewood.
