Cedarville University Yellow Jackets

Grant Kovac is a fourth-year defender for the Yellow Jackets.....sat out the 2013 season due to injury.....National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Scholar-Athlete.....Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Academic Team recognition.

2012 - Made 17 appearances and 11 starts during his sophomore season.....scored his first career goal in a 5-0 Homecoming win over Georgetown.....recorded one assist against Salem International.....G-MAC Academic Team.

2011 - Stepped in as a freshman to play in 22 matches with 19 starts in the back.....helped the CU defense to six shutouts overall including two at the NCCAA National Tournament.

High School - Prepped at Hampton High School.....three-year varsity letter winner and starter.....helped lead his team to the 2010 Pennsylvania state championship.....squad finished the season at 24-1 and also captured the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) Class AA state title.....team tallied 113 goals while allowing just 13 during championship campaign.....earned Team Defensive MVP honors and played in the 2010 WPIAL All-Star game.....Hampton was the runner-up in both the state tournament and the WPIAL during the 2009 season.....gained club soccer experience with both the Pittsburgh Northstars and the Pittsburgh Strikers.....graduated with academic honors.

Personal - Dean’s List student as a mechanical engineering major at Cedarville University.....born 2/13/93 in Windsor, England.....son of Chuck and Katy Kovac.....has older twin sisters as well as another older sister.
