Brent Martin is back for his third season of tennis after playing two-plus years on the golf team…..lefthander moved up to #3 singles last spring and tallied an 11-7 record.....NCCAA All-America Second Team choice in singles.....went 10-8 at #2 doubles along with Caleb Speicher.
2006-07 - Played in the #4 singles slot and posted an impressive 12-5 record.....settled into the #3 doubles tandem with Caleb Speicher with duo going 8-9.....two-year letter winner on the links…..played in one fall event as a junior with back-to-back rounds of 81 to place 25th at the Wittenberg Invitational with a 162 total…..turned in 36 career rounds in 20 events for an 81.11 stroke average per 18 holes.
2005-06 - Appeared in ten golf tournaments and played 17 out of a possible 22 rounds as a sophomore.....averaged a career-best 80.41.....twice turned in season-low scores of 76 at Tiffin and Wittenberg.....posted a season-low 157 total (79-78) at the Mount Vernon Nazarene Invitational.
2004-05 - Ranked third on the golf squad with an 81.8 average as a freshman.....played in all 17 rounds with a season-low 74 at the Shawnee State Invitational where he tied for 5th place overall (74-76-150).....shot 81 or lower nine times.....turned in a 79 at the Malone Invitational.
High School - Enjoyed an outstanding three-sport career at nearby Southeastern High School.....four-year letter winner in tennis and was a four-time all-league first team selection.....posted a 65-12 career singles record including a 30-9 mark his final two years in the #1 position.....earned all-area and all-county post-season honors from the Miami Valley Tennis Coaches Association.....first player in school history to be seeded #1 in the sectional and win a district match.....member of four conference championship tennis teams.....three-time All-Ohio Heritage Conference golfer while earning three letters in four years of play.....named to the All-Area First Team and All-Clark County First Team following both junior and senior seasons.....sectional medalist as a senior and averaged 38.5 strokes per nine holes during the season.....member of three OHC title teams and two sectional championship squads.....helped team set 9-hole (146) and 18-hole (300) school records.....played four years of basketball with two letters.....named to the All-Southwest District Team as a senior.....member of OHC title team as a sophomore that posted a 24-1 record.....OHC Scholar-Athlete.....National Honor Society student.
Personal - Dean=s List student as a sport management major at Cedarville University.....born 9/14/85 in Springfield, OH…..son of Kirk and Vicki Martin.....father is head coach of the Lady Jacket basketball team.....older sister, Amy Fourman, is a CU graduate, who was a member of the women=s volleyball and basketball teams.....older sister, Kelly Mangin, is a 2005 graduate of the University.
