Mike Marsh returned to his alma mater as a full-time assistant track & field coach in 2010. He specializes in working with athletes in the multi-events with an emphasis on the hurdles and javelin.
Marsh came to the Yellow Jackets from NCAA Division II Cal State Los Angeles where he served as an assistant coach during the 2009-10 season.. He was previously an assistant coach at perennial NAIA track & field power Azusa Pacific from 2002 through 2009 where he coached multiple All-Americans.
Marsh participated in track & field for the Yellow Jackets from 1999 through 2002. He was an NAIA Outdoor All-American in the decathlon, was the NCCAA champion in the event, and still holds the top six point totals in school history. He was an NAIA Indoor All-American in the pentathlon and owns CU top five all-time marks.
Marsh was ranked among the Top 20 decathletes in the United States from 2005 through 2009 and among the Top 75 in the world. He competed for USA vs. Germany in the 2009 Thorpe Cup.
Marsh is a 2002 graduate of Cedarville University with a degree in business management. He earned a master’s in physical education from Azusa Pacific University in 2010.
Mike and his wife, Lauri, have a daughter, Myla Jane, born June 8, 2010. They reside in Xenia.
