Cedarville University Yellow Jackets

Erik Johnson wraps up his career with the Yellow Jackets on the track.....best time in the indoor 800 last winter was 2:02.09 in the Cedarville Collegiate Invitational.....fastest outdoor mark was 1:59.95 in the All-Ohio Championship.....ran in three varsity meets during the 2013 cross country season as a junior.....best 8K mark of the fall was 27:52 to place 18th in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.....earned All-G-MAC Second Team honors.

2012-13 - Concentrated on the 800 meters as a sophomore.....turned in a career-best indoor mark of 1:59.79 at Indiana.....finished 8th in the NCCAA Indoor in 1:59.89.....fastest outdoor mark of the season was 1:58.94 at Miami.....ran in four varsity cross country meets.....posted a career-best 8K mark of 27:34 at the Friendship Invitational to finish 51st.....placed 93rd of 281 in the NCCAA Nationals in 27:55.....18th in the G-MAC Championship in 28:37.

2011-12 - Ran the 800 meters during both the indoor and outdoor seasons.....best indoor time was 2:01.12 at Indiana.....clocked in 1:57.06 outdoors at Hillsdale.....appeared in five varsity cross country meets as a freshman.....best time was 29:17 at the Friendship Invitational.

High School - Ran two years of cross country earning two letters at Bible Baptist High School.....district championship qualifier as a junior and senior.....four-year letter winner in track & field.....state qualifier in the 400 and 800.....member of two-time league championship squad.....four-year letter winner in soccer and twice named all-conference.....part of league title team.....played in the Senior All-Star Game.....played four years of basketball with two letters.

Personal - Journalism major at Cedarville University.....born 6/9/93 in Port Jefferson, NY.....son of Kurt and Joanne Johnson.....older brother, Greg, was a four-year distance runner at CU from 2010-14.....also has a younger brother.
