Ethan Gatchell returns for his fourth season with the Yellow Jackets.....top seven runner for cross country team that advanced to the 2018 NCAA Division II Championship and placed 24th in the country.....posted a career-best 8K of 25:45.2 in the All-Ohio Championship.....CU’s #6 finisher in NCAA Midwest Regional in 33:31.9 for the 10K.

2017-18 - NCCAA Indoor 800 meter champion in 1:55.45.....NCCAA Indoor All-American in the 800 and 4 x 400.....member of 4x4 quartet that placed third in the NCCAA in 3:24.65 which rates #6 all-time at Cedarville.....G-MAC Indoor 800 champion in 1:55.61.....ran career-best 1:54.46 in the 800 at Grand Valley State.....USTFCCCA Division II Outdoor All-Region Team in the 800.....G-MAC Outdoor 800 runner-up in career-best 1:51.98 which is eighth on the Yellow Jackets’ Top 10 list.....G-MAC Indoor First Team and Outdoor Second Team selection.....saw action in five varsity meets as a junior.....best 8K of the season was 26:34 to place 25th at the G-MAC Championship.....finished 20th in the NCCAA Championship in 26:59 for national runner-up squad.....NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.....G-MAC Academic Team.

2016-17 - NCAA Division II Indoor All-American on the track in the distance medley relay.....member of foursome that placed 8th in a school-record 9:53.72.....USTFCCCA Division II Indoor All-American (DMR).....G-MAC Indoor Second Team after finishing as runner-up in the 800 meters (1:55.30) and placed third in the mile (4:19.86).....established outdoor PR’s in the 800 (1:53.81) and 1,500 (4:01.24) at the Azusa Pacific Bryan Clay Invitational.....ran in six varsity meets in cross country and finished in the team’s top seven the last four outings.....season-best 8K time of 26:25 at Wilmington.....finished 26th in both the NCCAA (27:02) and G-MAC (28:14).....timed in 26:45 at the Lewis Cross-Over.....CU’s #6 competitor in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional in 33:25 for the 10K.....USTFCCCA Division II All-Academic.....G-MAC Academic Team.

2015-16 - NCCAA Outdoor 4 x 800 meter relay champion.....joined Tim De Jong, Wyatt Hartman, and Daniel Michalski to post a school-record time of 7:35.94.....G-MAC Outdoor Third Team.....best 800 of the season was 1:56.48 at Toledo.....G-MAC Indoor First Team performer.....conference runner-up in 1:58.52.....fastest indoor 800 mark was 1:56.26 at Grand Valley State.....G-MAC Freshmen Team both indoors and outdoors.....member of the cross country team.....saw action in the first five meets of the season.....fastest 8K mark was 27:03 in the All-Ohio Championship.....timed in 27:04 at the Lewis Cross-Over.

High School - Homeschool graduate, who ran for Red Lion High School.....four-year letter winner in both cross country and track & field.....personal best cross country 5K of 16:42.....member of two YAIAA championship teams.....two-time state qualifier on the track in the 4 x 800 placing 5th in 2013 and 7th in 2015.....graduated with the school record in the 800 meters (1:53.73).....won back-to-back county 800 titles.....best 1,600 was 4:26.....two-time All-YAIAA First Team.....part of two YAIAA title squads.

Personal - Dean’s List student as a computer engineering major at Cedarville University.....born 11/27/96 in Bedford, NH.....son of Matt and Christine Gatchell.....older brother, Caleb, was a four-year distance runner at Hillsdale College.....younger brother, Joel, is a junior distance runner at CU.....has two younger sisters and another younger brother.
